Royal Caribbean is the cruise line that delivers the "WOW!" and put rock-climbing and ice-skating rinks on cruise ships. Rising from modest beginnings in 1968, Royal Caribbean today is one of the largest cruise lines in the industry and consistently increases their guests "WOW!" factor with each new ship they introduce to the high seas.
Since 2001, Royal Caribbean has added seven ships to their fleet including the highly acclaimed Voyager Class. The newest addition to the Royal Caribbean fleet, the Freedom Class, is roughly 15 percent larger than the Voyager-class counterparts and features the world's largest fitness center at sea, the world's first full-sized boxing ring and FlowRider, a surfing simulator and cantilevered whirlpools that have never before been seen on a cruise ship.
And not stopping there, Royal Caribbean recently announced plans for a new ship that will take the line's award-winning guest experience far into the future. The 5,400-guest, 220,000-gross-registered-ton ship, a prototype developed under the project name, Genesis, builds upon the trailblazing innovations of the brand's landmark Voyager and Freedom classes of ships and is to be delivered in the Fall of 2009. "WOW!"
