|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Have read a few bad reviews of ship recently, but found both food and service to be very good. All of the crew very friendly and helpful. No complaints about food or service. Only thing I could say is that morning room service was always at least 15-20 minutes early. Not such a bad thing.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Entertainment good 1st few days, and tailed off a little last couple days, but still no complaints. Entertaining
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Only did one shore excursion through ship, which was whale watching in Cabo. Be careful of margaritas. Got impression they were made with PGA instead of tequila. Hit you very hard. But wonderful crew onboard boat, etc. Open bar on excursion, stick with Tecate beer.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
As usual, you can do as much or as little as you want. Cold weather first couple days limited some of the outdoor activities, but no wind on aft balcony so didn't affect us too much. Had anytime dining and met some very nice people from all over. Lots of Canadians on board, and found them to be very warm and friendly.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Beautiful ship. We have been on Grand, Golden, Carribean, and Diamond Princess, all grand class ships. This ship was totally booked, but only a few times did it seem crowded. Love the affordable balconies on Princess ships.

BALCONY ROOM -- SMALL BUT WONDERFUL TO BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE OCEAN AIR AND VIEWS!
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Food was very good. Service on Princess is always exceptional!
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Most of the entertainment was good. Some of it not as good. It is all personal preference.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
This was our second trip to the Mexican Riviera so we only did one excursion. Our tour director was excellent -- made us laugh and the trip was nice. We did the coastal/city tour of Puerto Vallarta. Ask for Gina if you take Tour A1!
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Bingo was great fun. Also, horse racing (with wooden horses). Love the casino and internet cafe. Princess parties were also quite nice. They even had a tea for Red Hat ladies on board!
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Very clean and neat. The ship is only a few years old and is in top notch shape!
|
| COMMENTS: |
This is a good ship for people with teens. My son was too old for the program this year but has enjoyed it in the past. The price is right for the exceptional service and food. |

Mini- suite. It was wonderful. It will be hard to return to a smaller room on a future cruise.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Food and service were excellent. Princess food was a level above Carnival food.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Entertainment was good -- about the same as on our previous Carnival cruise.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Shore excursions were wonderful. We swam with dolphins, visited a hacienda, and snorkeled on three different days.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
They were fun.

| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Outstanding ship. I would go on it again.

Book early. The rooms fill up quickly. |

AC - Mini-Suite/Dolphin Deck - Excellent stateroom, superior service, quality experience as advertised.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Very impressive anytime dining with superior waiter and assistant. Food was excellent as always!
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Ship's entertainment company was excellent-very professional! Outside talent was not up to our previous experiences with Princess.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Outstanding as usual-enjoyed the canopy adventure in Puerto Vallerta and the Mazatlan shopping, show and beach experience
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Onboard activities were the usual flair; except this cruise was an "art lovers" cruise with several artists of note on board including Billy Dee Williams, the actor/painter.
|
| CHILDRENS PROGRAM: |
The children's program on the Diamond Princess was exceptional. Our grandchildren loved all the fun they had in the on-board kid's programs.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Our overall impression of the Diamond Princess was very positive. It is a beautiful ship with an excellent staff. It met all our expectations from other Princess cruises we have sailed on.
|
| COMMENTS: |
We have never been disappointed by Princess. Their cruises are delivered as advertised. It is always a superior experience worthy of our vacation dollar. We only wish that Princess would change the itinerary for this cruise to include another port even at a higher cost. Three days at sea in a seven day itinerary was one day too many. |

We had a great time. Although it was our first cruise, we had researched endlessly and spoken to many former cruisers. This trip exceeded our expectations. |

Interior Double (JJ): We have cruised 3 times (twice with Princess and once with Royal Carribean) and this interior cabin was much nicer than the Royal Carribean ocean view we had. Closet and storage space was most adequate and the bath was typical for an inside cabin (small shower and vanity). The bed size was King and a desk with mirror was also in the room.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
The food was great and plentiful. We chose the anytime dining option and had a variety of dining options each evening with little problem getting a table for 4 each evening. One "formal" evening we did have a 45 minute wait and I would advise a reservation on those evenings. We paid the surcharge one evening for the Sterling steak house and it was worth it. The shrimp in the cocktail were hugh and the crab chowder was wonderful. The steak was also mouthwatering. You can eat 24/7 and the breakfast buffet had anything you would want. A pizza bar and hamburger /hotdog grill runs most of the day a poolside and an ice cream bar is also on the Lido deck (but it's not free). You can get free ice cream with sundae fixins around 3 to 4pm in the Horizon Court buffet but they don't advertise this. If you go hungry, it's your own fault on this ship.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Excellent! There were 2 shows just about every evening featuring the cruise ship's own entertainers as well as comedians, jugglars, muscians and even karaoke competitions. We had trouble working everything in each evening.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We did not sign up for any excursions on this sailing. There was a threat of a hurricane so we were afraid of booking a non refundable trip that might have to occur in the rain. We did however take 2 local tours offered by companies soliciting as you get off the ship. These were 3 to 3 and 1/2 hour tours for about half the cruise ship excursions charges. I'm sure the more sophisticated excursions offered by the cruise ship would be superior to what you might be able to find from the locals outside the ship, but for a simple tour of the local sites, the tours we used were most adequate.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Always something going on: gambling (and lessons), art auctions, wine tasting, formal nights and many many photo opportunities, multiple pools and music by the pool, pollside competitions, shuffleboard and ping pong, jogging track, basketball, putting green, health spa and gym, nightclubs, ballroom dancing lessons, food food food. If you just want to kick back and sun, there are lounge chairs everywhere or you can find a shady spot on one of the lower decks and just watch the water go by and doze off in the gentle breeze.
|
| CHILDRENS PROGRAM: |
There were many organized activities but we did not travel with children. There were organized activities for ages up to 18 or 19.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
This ship was almost identical to the Grand Princess. We love this ship and its size and it's beauty.
|
| COMMENTS: |
Service from staff was great and everyone was very friendly and looking for an opportunity to serve you. The ship was clean and we couldn't have felt safer. There was so much to do both on and off the ship that 7 days just isn't enough to fully explore everything that's offered. For the first time cruiser or the seasoned one, this ship can't be beat. |

Obstructed Ocean view, life boats were outside the window but you could still see over them just fine.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
The food and service was very good. They could improve in this area slightly. I say this only because I like spicy foods. The anytime dining is a great way to go. I suspect that the anytime dining might stress the food and service area, which is why I am only giving them a very good and not an excellent.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The entertainment was excellent. It was very enjoyable and having two different shows a night is great.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We didn't go on any shore excursions, we enjoy the ports. My wife's parents went on the Canopy (zip-line) excursion and raved about it, so I think next time we will make that a must do.

| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
The scheduled activities were a lot of fun. You can get involved as much or as little as you like.
