The finest designers and architects have spared neither effort nor expense in creating the Costa Magica cruise ship. A cruise ship that pays homage to some of Italy's most fascinating destinations. From Positano to Portofino and Capri to Grado as well as Bellagio, Sicily and Vicenza, each of the ship's public rooms and restaurants, take guests on a magical voyage to some of the most beautiful locales in Italy. At 105,000 tons she is one of the largest cruise ships ever to fly the Italian flag and the largest ship in Costa's fleet along with her sister the Costa Fortuna. The Costa Magica can host up to 3,470 guests. Most of the 1,358 cabins - 857 (63%) - are external; of these, 522 (60%) have a private balcony overlooking the sea, and more than 300 have a window. Some of the most particular features of the new ship are the no less than 58 spacious and Elegant Suites, all with a Jacuzzi, available in three different formats. Dedicated to the magical places in our country, the Costa Magica is conceived as a kind of fantastic trip through the most beautiful and well-known areas of Italy: from the Emerald Coast to Ostia Antica; from Positano to Portofino; from Capri to Grado; and then Bellagio, Salento, Maratea, Capo Colonna, Palinuro, Sicily, Spoleto, Urbino, Vicenza, Bressanone, and so on. Each of these marvelous Italian sites is the source of inspiration for defining the styles and colors of each public ambience on the ship. The interiors of the Costa Magica were designed by the American architect Joe Farcus, who designed the Costa Atlantica, the sister ship of the Costa Mediterranea and the new Costa Fortuna. Instead, Italian architects are involved in fitting out the interiors along with many of the artists whose works will enhance the ship's decor.
The Costa Magica is a spectacular and surprising ship, and especially its large and spacious outdoor decks: the main swimming pool deck, shaped like an amphitheatre, is very sunny and nicely sheltered, while the stern swimming pool can be used under all weather conditions thanks to its mobile transparent roof.
The greatest thing about a cruise is that you get to pamper yourself in all ways. Try out Costa Magica's Wellness and Beauty Centre, 4 swimming pools, including one for children, and 6 Jacuzzis: everything needed to enjoy all the luxury of a dream vacation. Some of the most important areas on the Costa Magica include the wellness center (1,500 sq. m), which is equipped with an Ultramodern Gym with glass walls overlooking the sea, Sauna, Turkish bath plus numerous relaxation and wellness services.

Although I feel the food, entertainment and ship activities were not up ... |
Client Review || Costa Magica posted 2006-12-29 |
| AGE: |

| # OF PRIOR CRUISES: |

| CABIN CATEGORY: |
Oceanview (6A) Very good. Cabin was very nice with lots of room.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Good; the menu selections were too "exotic". They should have stuck to more "mainstream" dishes. Although the food was not bad, it was not as good as I've had on other cruises. Also, the buffets served the same food every day. A little more variety would have been nice.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Good; The shows were less extravagant than other cruises I've been on; There was very little entertainment other than the shows
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Good; Other than games and dancing around the pool, there weren't a lot of activities.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Very good; nice ship; the only negative is there weren't enough restrooms.
|
| COMMENTS: |
Although I feel the food, entertainment and ship activities were not up to the same standard as other cruises I've taken, I don't think they were sub-standard to the point I wouldn't take another Costa cruise if the price was right. |
