Introducing Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas! This ship offers more family staterooms than any other ship in the fleet including the Presidential Family Suite, a 1,215 square foot 4 bedroom, 4 bath suite complete with living room and an 810 square foot balcony. Freedom of the Seas also introduces a number of new amenities including a FlowRider surf pool, flat screen TV's in every stateroom, WiFi connectivity in all staterooms and most public areas and cell phone connectivity now possible via an onboard cell tower. Freedom of the Seas combines all of this with previously introduced highlights such as the rock-climbing wall, onboard ice skating rink and 9-hole miniature golf course.
Entertainment & Activities
The gorgeous view isn't the only thing that will dazzle you onboard our cruise ships. See a contemporary musical stage production or catch a live band. Or be part of the fun with ballroom dancing lessons, ice-skating, or miniature golf. Then you can write home to tell everyone about it from our Internet Cafe.
Sports & Fitness
We offer so many sport and fitness choices that you'll break a sweat just trying to choose what to do next. Play basketball or volleyball on our Sports Deck. Climb our signature rock wall. Take a spinning class. Work out with one of our fitness trainers or enjoy a yoga class with an ocean view.
Spa
With so much to do onboard, plus countless adventures on land, remember to take time for yourself. After all, it's your vacation! So why not indulge a little and head to the ShipShape Day Spa.
Treat yourself to a pedicure or facial, or go for something you've never tried before, like a seaweed wrap or aroma stone therapy massage. Let us soothe your body, smooth your skin and send your mind to a sensory heaven. You may even surprise yourself. What seems fun and extravagant, is actually a pathway to your own personal well-being.

Make sure you leave plenty of time to disembark. Beware of Montego Bay.... |

| CABIN CATEGORY: |
Ocean View Stateroom (H) -- We had an awesome room. It was on the corner at the front of the ship and because of it, the room had extra walking space. Plus we were down a hallway to ourselves so it was very quiet and away from the normal hallway walking traffic.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Food was awesome! Service was awesome! I have cruised twice with Carnival and twice with Royal Carribean. I could never go back to Carnival after cruising with Royal. There service is top of the line in comparison!
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Entertainment was really good. They had several broadway type shops and the ice show was really good. Don't ever miss it but make sure you are there to get your tickets early. The good times sell out fast and we actually had to miss dinner in the main dining room because we could only get tickets for the 7:00 show.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We did not take any real shore excursions. We went out on our own. I didn't particularly like the islands that Freedom of the Seas went to with the exception of their own island Labadee! That was beautiful. If you ever go to Montego Bay, be aware that they charge you a $5 fee/person to enter their beach and a $5/person per chair and $5 per umbrella. It was quite expensive. Labadee is much more beautiful for a sit on the beach experience then Montego Bay. We were quite disappointed.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
There is always something to do on the Royal Carribean ships. My favorite is the Love and Marriage Show. They have plenty of places to hang out and have fun whether you are looking for a quite place or a place to dance. The Freedom of the Seas has the new flowrider! Way cool and fun to watch! Also, they have the promenade deck which is fun to just hang out and watch the people go by in the evening.
|
| CHILDRENS PROGRAM: |
We didn't have any children but this ship has the H20 Zone which looked really cool for the kids. This is like a waterpark on the ship. The Freedom of the Seas is definetly more a Family Ship then a ship for the singles or the older people who like a more subdued cruising.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Wow! I have to say The Freedom of the Seas is a big, big, ship! They are coming out with an even bigger one and I can't possibly imagine the size. However impressive the size of the ship was, I actually preferred The Explorer of the Seas to this ship. I think the Explorer was more glitzy and I think it was a perfect size ship. I actually got tired of walking from one side of the ship to another on this cruise. This ship also attracted alot more children and alot more people. It seemed to me you could feel the crowds way more on this ship then you did on the Explorer of the Seas. If you are looking for a ship with less children this ship is not for you! All the family/kid attactions on this ship attracted way more children. I have to say though Royal Carribean does an excellent job of keeping the kids behaved and entertained. You don't see some of the stuff you see on the Carnival ships on the Royal Carribean ships! All in all it was a nice vacation, we never had a hard time finding a chair on deck. It may not be where you wanted it but there were plenty of them. If you want to relax, stay on board while everyone goes to shore. You then get the whole run of the ship and it is quiet and relaxing. We will definetly cruise with Royal again but I think I have no desire to go on any bigger of a ship then this.

Make sure you leave plenty of time to disembark. Beware of Montego Bay. Jamaica can be a very scary port! If you don't like a lot of walking book a room in the middle of the ship! Make sure you get your ice tickets as early as possible. Other than that, sit back, relax and enjoy! |

Breakfast and lunch - average at best- food selection should be better; dinners were okay. Princess cruises food was better. Service is fine, however, it was difficult to get somebody on the phone.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Top notch, best in all of our cruise experience.

| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We were skipping them, because we prefer beach and relaxation. RC should better organize the tours in Miami. The only time available for the Miami tour is 7 am. The ship is back at 6:30 am, and our flight was at 4 pm. Obviously, we were not in a hurry to get up early and get off the ship in a mad rush, so we did not book the tour.

Good and plenty of them. Nothing unusual though.

Great ship, A+++

This is a "must see" ship with great entertainment. Try to get on 6 pm dinner booking, then it is easier to see the shows and catch up on dancing afterwords. |

We had a D2 Balcony cabin number 9380, Cabin was very roomy with an adequate sized balcony. The new bedding is so comfortable; I find it every bit as good as Holland America's which I though was the best. The pillows were another thing as they were flat and not fluffy at all.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
We had a table for 6 and were seated for late dining which we prefer. Our Waiter and Assistant Waiter, were very efficient and personable and made dining a pleasure. Now we only ate in the main dining room 4 nights dining once in Chops, Portofino's and the Windjammer. Chops and Portofino's were execellent. Well worth the $20.00 PP reservation fee. The Windjammer Buffet lounge is a casual alternative restaurant and the food reflects that, quick and simple.

| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The shows we how can I say Cruise ship shows, entertaining but nothing special EXCEPT for the Ice Show! That was one special extravaganza that cannot be missed. This ain't your grandmother's ice show! Janis Joplin, Rock and Roll meets Pirates of the Caribbean Funk! GREAT!
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We did not do any organized shore excursions, just going to a beach on every port day (been there done that).
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Plenty, always something to do. The Flowrider~~WOW~~ never saw anything like it, lots of fun watching the kids and the adults trying to manage it. You have to go by it at 9AM (the time set aside for the advanced people) to see the surfers go through the motions. Unbelievable!!! Something for everyone, library, internet cafe, spa, pools, shopping, rock climbing, surfing, water park, live music, comedy, entertainment, movie theatre, karaoke, art auctions, photographers at every corner, sports bar, kids club, arcade, miniature golf. Needless to say never a dull moment.

| CHILDRENS PROGRAM: |
Must have been good, never saw to many.

The Freedom of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the water, but once onboard you would never know that, it was well organized and never the feeling of being to over crowded. Would book again!

You have to do it once to see what an innovated ship this is compared to what else there is out there. Highly recommended for families of all ages. JUST GET OUT THERE |

Food is not as good as when we first traveled on Royal Caribbean in 1992. The service in the diningroom was good. The Windjammer was very crowded -- too many people for the size of this restaurant, tables were left sitting with dishes on them or were dirty. We had to find someone and request that they clean a table for us. Mandatory cleaning of your hands when entering the Windjammer was not being enforced. They make you do it on the Legend of the Seas. On this ship people just walked by and when I mentioned it, the girl said "oh, they'd throw us overboard if we made them do it".
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The production shows were good, the lounge acts were okay. The comedian on the last night was very good, sorry I don't remember his name.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Took a trip in Montego Bay and didn't get off the bus. It was a filthy place. When we got to the beach, they wanted to charge for going on the beach. The bus took you to a couple of shopping areas that weren't very nice; I couldn't wait to get back to the ship.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
There is always so much going on that you can't possibly do everything you would like to do in one week. It was fun watching the Flow Rider, played minature golf, used the spa.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
It is very large, we did a lot of walking. It wasn't as clean as other ships in the fleet. Some numbers for the floor selection in the elevators were missing, carpets seemed to have large stains on them, hand prints on railings and glass. On other ships we'd see people cleaning constantly, not the case on this ship. They seemed to have less employees for this and the ship is very large.

If you are a Diamond or Diamond Plus member of the Crown and Anchor Society, you will get a key to a room off the Viking Lounge. You can use this room 24 hrs. a day. From 5:00 - 8:30 each evening they offer complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Diana was wonderful at her job and made everyone feel very welcome. I believe this is the first ship to do this. You have windows just like the Viking Lounge and can enjoy the view while leaving port. |
