Reprising the name of a former Princess ship, Crown Princess is a sister ship to the highly praised Caribbean Princess. Similiar in design but not an identical twin, Crown Princess features a number of innovations designed for cruising in the balmy Caribbean waters, but Crown Princess will offer a number of new design evolutions to create additional options for passengers, including a piazza-style atrium, even more dining venues and redesigned public spaces. The Crown Princess profile will more resemble that of Diamond Princess with the signature Skywalkers nightclub moved forward towards the ship's funnel and a sports court will crown the top of this trademark disco and observation lounge.

Oceanview- clean room, well maintained, fresh linens 2-3 times a day depending on our use.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Food was excellent, we spent most of our time doing the buffet as the sit down dinner did not appeal to us. We tried it one night and found the service not too friendly so we opted to do the buffet the rest of the cruise.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Excellent entertainment, music, comedy shows, and the cabaret type shows were well worth watching. I found the entertainment on the cruise line to be superb.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We did not take part in the shore excursions this cruise.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Did some of the on board activities which we had a wonderful time doing.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
My overall impression was that because the ship is quite new the staff were not as friendly as was the case on my previous experience on the Grand Princess. Staff would walk right by you on the ship and you would say good morning or hello and they wouldn`'t bother to answer you sometimes and other times they made no effort what so ever to acknowledge you. Not sure if it was because they were a newer ship, but certainly saw a big difference between my trip last year on the Grand Princess and this years trip on the Crown Princess.

Please take a moment to check your bill before leaving the ship and don`t take the first person you speak with (word), if you feel you need assistance and they have not met your needs then find someone else. There certainly are people aboard this ship that will accomodate you and make you feel that your problems have been looked after. |

Very good - too much seafood, some people may not like it as much, we did.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Excellent - Sometimes too many things were happening at once and we had to choose where to go. Scheduling could be better.

We only did one Excursion by Princess in Grenada (Explorer). Excellent. We did a few on our own via private tours.

Very good, but the port intensive tour did not allow much time.

| FOOD & SERVICE: |
We had only one poor meal on board. I think that more our choice, then the ships, as we could have ordered something different. We thought the food was great. There was variety. We did not really like that you had to pay extra for ice cream, silly charge. As for the food service, we had mixed service, sometimes exceptional, sometimes poor. The bartenders were the worst. Unless you were ordering a paying drink they had bad attitude about getting you a soda on the "the soda plan". I am on medication that prevents me from drinking, thus the soad plan was good.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The entertaiment for the most part was good. They did not have acts every night, which was strange. We found only one show that we actually got up and left it was that bad. If you were looking to see 2 shows a night this ship did not provide that. They planned poorly when they had 2 shows on the same night. You could not physically see both different shows unless you ate at the evening buffet at 5:30pm. As for us this was ok, as we were not trying to fit something into every waking hour on the cruise. We enjoyed the fact that we could watch the NFL playoffs on the "Movies under the stars "screen. That was great! Watching this was like a stadium experience.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We had planned to take a few excursions, but frankly were taken back by the prices. We managed to see the islands on our own for less money. It has been about 18 months since our last cruise on Princess and we were in sticker shock over the daily cost of what an excursion cost. Yet we were able to do things on our own for less than half what they were charging.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
You could run yourself into the ground if you wanted. We liked what they had.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
We think becasue it was a new ship and not in service for a year, the staff did not have it act together like out previous Princess experience. ( Diamond Princess). Our cabin steward was just ok. We never got our arrival champagne, we had asked for stuff and never got it. Example, we had bathroom glasses once during the week, we kept asking, never got them. It took 3 days to get a bathrobe. etc. A lot of the staff that interacted with the public did not speak English. Things that were to happen never did or when asked about again we got a different answer. Example, we went to use the coupon for the free photo that you gave us and we were told that we could not use it , that it was not valid. We asked 2x about this and never got a straight answer nor the free photo. When I went to the front desk the person did not get me an answer, and frankly had problems understanding English. We thought the ship was showing wear already. We had towels with tears and rips, our wallpaper in the room was torn, and the wood on the railing in the room was really worn. This was not what we had on the Diamond Princess.( We had same type room on that ship) We thought the enforcement of hand washing was sporadic. The people in charge did not speak English enforcing this. Considering what is at stake for this part alone we felt this should be a priority. One other thing, we did not like having to be charged to use the Sanctuary, a place where the sunbathing and pool was quiet. Build this and the ice cream into the price of the ship. You had to pay for quiet! This was riduculous! There are enough areas on the ship for division of noise levels without being charged for it!

| COMMENTS: |
This is a mammoth ship . People who like medium to small ships would not like this type of ship. Know the price of excursions before you go. And understand that the size of the ship means you might not get the service you were expecting. On the whole we did have a great time, and our experience did not ruin the trip except for what we noted. We probably would go on Princess again. There were more children than I expected at this time of the year(Jan). We chose this time becasue we wanted a more adult ship without screaming kids and babies. |

BE; We had a balcony stateroom. It was nice but not quite as roomy as some of the other balcony staterooms we have had before.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
The food and service was excellent. Because it was such a big ship we did have trouble finding a table in the buffet dining rooms at breakfast and lunch. Other than that it was great.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The entertainment was adequate. I have seen better, but yet I have seen worse.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We did the helmet dive excursion in the Grand Turk and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in water sports. We also did a snorkeling excursion at the Grand Cayman and was fairly satisfied with it.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
They had many onboard activities. So many that it was hard for us to choose what we wanted to do, but we would rather have too many than not enough.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
We thought the ship was beautiful, however we will probably choose to cruise on ships with less passengers from now on. It was just too crowded.
|
| COMMENTS: |
Just be prepared for the crowded buffet lines and seating at the Horizon Court and Caribe Cafe. |
