Launched in 2006, the ms Noordam is the newest member of our renowned Vista-class ships. Named for the Northern compass point, she embraces the latest industry and environmental technologies such as her use of a diesel-electric power plant for optimal energy efficiency and an Azipod propulsion system that maximizes maneuverability.
Onboard ms Noordam you will discover museum-quality paintings such as an oil painting of the city of Utrecht painted in 1842, as well as contemporary art like the series of photographs of music greats Dizzy Gillespie and BB King. One of the most valuable pieces of furniture onboard the ship is a remarkable inlaid chest flanked by carved wooden 17th-century Baroque columns. Made in Germany in 1885, the chest is inlaid with ebony and precious stones. Enjoy an onboard IPod self-guided tour of the complete Noordam art collection. The ms Noordam exemplifies the classic style of ocean travel with contemporary amenities and modern enhancements.

|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Very good food , second best compare to other cruises , excellent service , best so far.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Good, not really different from other cruises.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Due to events beyond the ship's control, a couple of tours had to be cancelled. The staff from this department were very accomodating in providing another alternative at the pier. There were no problems with the cost of the tours being credited to my shipboard account.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
I enjoyed the various activities that I witnessed. I enjoyed reading and watching others dance, play bingo, etc.
|
| CHILDRENS PROGRAM: |
Almost non existant , not really designed to accomodate family with children.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Very good , very well decorated , clean and excellent service.
|
| COMMENTS: |
Average age of passenger is 55-60 so younger couples, families with children should direct their choice to cruise lines such as Carnival or Royal Caribbean. |

Client Review || Noordam posted 2006-11-13 |
| CABIN CATEGORY: |
Suite cabin 5001--there was a problem with a musty, moldy smell coming from the bathroom that was never taken care of. It permeated the cabin. The steward did the best he could and even gave me a spray bottle of air freshener but it would never go away. He said he would tell his boss but as far as I know no one ever came to the cabin until the morning of disembarkation. The odor was there from day one. I spent over $3400 for the cabin alone and wasn't very happy.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Food and service were great, best I've ever had on a cruise (except for above).

Entertainment was excellent really 1st class.

| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Overall impression of the ship was that it was well run from the operating crew, to the housekeeping staff, to food service and entertainment. It was a nice experience overall.

| COMMENTS: |
Advice to future cruisers on this ship is to stay out of cabin 5001. I feel with the money I spent on the suite, someone should have taken care of the smelly situation right away. Based on my wife and I being in the cabin for 10 days and no corrective action, I wouldn't be surprised if the situation has yet to be alleviated. This situation was bad PR, as we traveled with 10 other guests and had them in the cabin one night for pre-dinner cocktails and were embarrassed by the odor and had to explain what we thought it was and that we were assured it would be taken care of. |
