OK. Disappointed in entertainment. I brought my family on a Princess cruise raving about food and entertainment. The Princess singers and dancers were so-so in the Vista lounge but great in the Princess theater. I can only assume the difference is the acoustics.

I always try to eat something that I would not prepare at home. I also try as many different dishes as I possibly can. If you do not like it, you can always get something else. The wait staff is there to serve you. |

Inside Cabin - Baja Deck / Husband & I had plenty of room and extra drawers for clothes (as 1st time cruisers we brought way too many clothes), room layout was good and we had plenty of electrical outlets.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
The buffet was as we expected. Typical buffet offerings, fruit was fresh and the ice cream sundae bar every day from 3:30 - 4:30 was a nice plus. The pizza and burger offerings were good, although sometimes the lines were long. We chose the evening scheduled dining and the food and service was excellent. There was a good variety of choices offered and we enjoyed dinner nightly as a family.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
We went to a few shows and they were O.K.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We booked our own excursions at Roatan and Belize. In Roatan we went to Barefoot Caye and snorkeled and had lunch at their facility. It was a great time and a beautiful place. We will return if we get a chance. In Belize we booked a reef snorkel and stingray swim with Shoretrips (Hammerhead Sports). Even though the weather was rainy and the water rough, our party agreed it was the best experience of our trip. Henni and the guys with Hammerhead Sports made it an enjoyable outing and we would book this excursion again.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
We did not participate in any activites. We preferred to relax by the pool at the back of the ship, with a 24K Margarita and watch the water go by.
|
| CHILDRENS PROGRAM: |
We left the teenagers at home.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
We are definately spoiled having our first cruise on a big ship. Everything was well kept and very clean. We saw several people painting, varnishing and doing upkeep on the ship late at night. The room was nice with new bedding and comfortable mattress. We would cruise on this ship again, if we get the opportunity.
|
| COMMENTS: |
Before our cruise, we read many different forums with people's experiences while aboard the Grand Princess. Some people had a good time and some had negative reports. We had a great time and think your cruise is what you make of it. Great times with family and priceless memories. |
