Not happy with the trip for snorkeling - had to walk around the whole pier & bay to the opposite side. When booking it said to meet at end of pier & there would be a boat there. Old people could not make the long walk. When the trip was over - there should have been tranportation back to ship - there was none! The snorkling was cut over an hour short. Paid for 3 hrs. - got 2Hrs. Very little to see - compared to others trips in past which were great. It was not compared trips which in the past.

Balcony cabin A736...Very nice cabin but a bit smaller than other balcony cabins. Balcony was also somewhat small but overall I still enjoyed it.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
The food in the dining room and buffet area was always good with lots of choices. There were very few items I found that I didn't like. Service was impeccable. This ship has the best staff & crew that I have ever experienced on a Princess ship.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The few shows I saw were very good theatre productions. I also enjoyed the venues in the various lounges.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
I can't say enough about how great this ship is. The Sun is in great shape and looked new. The layout of the ship had a nice flow to it and made it very easy to get around. Staff & crew were very friendly & helpful going out of their way to make it a great cruise. It never felt crowded even though the ship was fully booked. I would not hesitate to book this ship again. It has become one of my favorites out of 12 cruises.

JJ, nice room, very comfortable
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Food choices were not as extensive as on some other cruises, but there were good choices that were always available like new york steak, fettuccini alfredo, shrimp cocktail, chocolate mousse, just to name a few.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The comedians, ventriloquist, magician were all great. the resident lounge pianists were excellent. the ship's dance/procuction show troup were just good.

Scuba diving in st. thomas was ok, diving in dominica was great!

BA - Balcony. We have had this cabin before and like the location on the ship. But we understand the Sun Princess is moving to the P&O line the fall of 2007.
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Everything was good. We had the traditional early seating because we like having the same waiter and server each evening. They become familiar with what we want, like and dislike and what we like to drink.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
The productions were good, although we have seen the 'Curtain Up' 4 times now it's still entertainling. The Ventriloquist (Dan Horn) was hysterical and the best entertainment we have had on several trips.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Snorkel on Princess Cays - was wonderful. The island was better than RCCL Labadee. Dominica - jungle gondola ride and falls were good. Barbardos - scuba diving for beginner was great and guide was really good - confident, patient and friendly. Curacao - Hato Caves - although very hot in the caves it was a good tour and tour of the city was interesting.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Jacuzzis were not hot or bubbling some new Princess issue and this was very disappointing. We really enjoy the jacuzzi in the evening after dinner so this is a real disappointment. For the first time (after 14 cruises) we didn't participate in the art auction which we really enjoyed in the past. The pool activities were fun to watch. We want MORE ballroom dancing classes. On the past cruises this is always a full class sometimes over flowing and they need more classes.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Although she is older (1995) we still enjoy the 'smaller' ships over the large mega ships. The Sun is easy to find our way around and if you forget something in our cabin it's not a long hike back to get it. Any comments that you may have that would benefit future cruisers who are contemplating sailing on this ship? --- To remember it is an older ship and needs some re-fitting but since it's leaving the fleet next year there won't be any remodeling. There aren't automatic doors as on the new ships and don't compare a 2004 + ship with a 1995 built ship. On a smaller ship there are less people to get off and contend with in town and shops because it's not carrying so many people. One of a big plus with Princess is that their ships have a self-service laundry and on longer trips this is great.
