| FOOD & SERVICE: |
Excellent, good choice of food and good service. The price of wine was considered somewhat expensive when the retail price is well known.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Excellent and very entertaining
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
Needed to be selective. Tended to be repetitive, despite different locations.
|
| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Plenty to do. The difficulty was in choosing what to do.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
Modern, relaxed and well run. A most pleasant holiday.
|
| COMMENTS: |
We would recommend the ship to anyone contemplating cruising as a holiday. While it is not directly related to cruising as such, purchases of goods on board that later prove faulty are difficult to remedy when you are later so far away from the supplier. We are presently in contact with the company concerning an item of jewellery purchase on board the broke immediately following the cruise and we are awaiting a response. |

Ate at the main dining restaurants. Food selection was good, and tasty as well. Buffet food (lunchtime) could've used a bit more variety throughout the week.

Good

Swam with the dolphins in Ixtapa. I would recommend it to anyone.

| ONBOARD ACTIVITIES: |
Seemed like onboard activities, especially during 'at sea' days were geared to an older audience. It gave me time to relax, and soak in the sun on the pool deck.

Modern, relaxed and well run. A most pleasant holiday.

| COMMENTS: |
Freestyle Cruising isn't for everyone. I personally enjoy being able to eat where I want, when I want, and with who I want. It's also a more relaxed atmosphere than other cruise lines I've been on such as Celebrity. |

I will not cruise NCL again. Our 1st. cruise with NCL Dream was great. This cruise staff did not make us feel welcome and ignored many passengers needs and concerns. It appears that NCL was more interested in selling their products than making an enjoyable and comfortable cruise for their guests. If these crew personal worked for me I would have terminated them on the spot. Many guests were complaining about the poor service and rude service personal. We did not receive shuttle passes through your e-mails and had problems getting on shuttle buses to and from the airport. This was suppost to be included in the total transparation package. We were also told we would receive a Latitudes Credit of 50.00. Didn't Happen. |

| CABIN CATEGORY: |
I went with a group of family members, 19 in all, all adults except for a 5 week old grandson. My wife and I had booked the least expensive cabin, but were upgraded to Category KK, inside on Deck 10. I would have been just as happy on deck 4 or 5 as we spent almost no "waking" time in the cabin, and there was far less motion on the lower deck (our daughter was there).
|
| FOOD & SERVICE: |
The only people that complain about this are those who are seasoned cruisers and have found better on other ships or cruise lines. We were fine with everything. You can pick up copies of the main dining room menus at the front desk on Deck 7 but there are a few "gothchas". They aren't exactly what will be served, only a sample. They aren't in the order of which day they will be served. They have a "these are available anytime" list of choices. That was a plain fib. We were told on more than one occasion that we could only order what was on the "real" menu and that "available" list was nowhere to be found there. Also, Room Service was restricted to the Room Service menu. We couldn't even get a dish of ice cream.
|
| ENTERTAINMENT: |
Several of our group raved about the live "shows". I guess I'm not so cultured and found myself looking for the remote to change the channel. If you're a "show" type person, you'll probably like them. The other on-board entertainment was fine, some really fine, some so so.
|
| SHORE EXCURSIONS: |
We didn't go on any. We made our own way. If you have lots of money and don't mind following a tour guide around, and can live with how they divide up the time spent at various places, I say participate. Otherwise, it's easy enough to see and do things on your own. A note on the cliff divers at Acapulco. Considering the time the ship arrives, the one hour time difference and the logistics in getting to the site, I wouldn't try to get to the 1 PM show (which was our original plan). Some people who tried to make that one, ended up way at the back of the viewing area and didn't get to see much. We opted for the first evening show (7:30), got there at 6:45 and stood right against the rock barricade, down the hill from the hotel and in front of the bleachers. We could see the divers all the way from "liftoff" to entering the water. It was fantastic. We chose Zihuatanejo (Playa Las Gatas via water taxi) for our snorkelling and it was perfect. As per internet advice, we went outside the breakwate (clearly visible from shore) for the best view of the fish. DO go there from around the west (nearest the dock) side though. We tried from the east and had to fight with the rocks, despite the warning we had.
|
| OVERALL IMPRESSION: |
OK
|
| COMMENTS: |
Marking our suitcases somehow (colored tape, decals etc.) definitely helped in identifying them. Post-It notes came in handy for leaving messages for others in our group. We mostly didn't bother with the walkie talkies we took. Take 2 bathing suits if you have them and rinse them in the shower between uses. The main deck pool is salt water. Ladies: a two-piece suit (no matter what size) will work best for sunbathing on shore excursions (think bathroom breaks) I took some pesos just in case but it is just as easy to use SMALL bills in US dollars. Since we're from Calgary, I took about a dozen Canadian flag pins and gave them to special people we met both onshore and onboard. They were always well received. If you're going to buy an NCL water bottle holder ($10-12), get it just as you leave the ship (so it's cold) then drink it up, throw out the standard plastic bottle inside and get a new cold one (rather than try to fill it up). The cabin shower stalls have a 4 foot clothes line in them. The bathrooms have extra hanging hooks on the backs of the doors for wet clothes, towels etc. We found no need for insect repellent on the beaches Seasickness: our group used everything from the ear patch, to the bracelet, to Gravol, to ginger. No major problems. Use what you think will work best for you, or nothing at all (which some did). |
