The Cons

Layout of the ship
The Review
Remember this post is MY opinion, not what eveyone on the ship thought. I've cruised with NCL before and love the line. I just got home a few hours ago from 7 days on the Epic... and besides a few minor details it was a great time. The staff, food and destinations were fantastic- no complaints. My complaint, if you can call it a complaint, is the layout of the ship- it's not that great! On NCL's smaller boats, probably all of them?, you have the ability to walk all the way around the ship, top deck and a lower deck. On the Epic you can't, the lower deck you only have access on the sides, not the front or back. On the top deck you have access to all but the very front, which may not sound like a big deal but I find it unfortunate. On other NCL ships you can sit on the top deck front, which is a very cool experience. Once you've sat in the front you'll understand what I mean. The inside layout wasn't in MY opinion all that great either. Lots of left and right turns to make it to your cabin which usually means it'll take you a few days to find your cabin- or where you want to go. The front is private and caters to the rich... which I'm not. I feel NCL forgot about the majority of its clients! If smoking bothers you the bad news is you will hate the casion. It's located in the heart of the ship and you have to walk through to access several venues. Of course they have air filters but they don't catch all the smoke. So there you have it... my opinion. The line is great and the ship is fine, I just have a few small issues myself. I'm certainly not telling you to stay away from the Epic, just a little of what to look forward to. Personally I'll stick to a few of their other ships.

If you are undecided about which cruise ship to choose then you have to give the Norwegian Epic a try because it has everything that you can need and more. I was totally impressed with their sports complex that offered activities like rock climbing, watersports and basketball. Thereafter I would hit the spas for a bit of relaxation to charge up the batteries in preparation for dinner. When it comes to dinner once again be prepared to have your mind blown as you can choose from 17 different restaurants. You can then close up the night in one of their 18 bars or lounges before turning in to your spacious stateroom.

The Cons

Too many passengers
The Review
A lot of my friends ask me which cruise ship they should go on for a vacation because I have been on quite a number of them. Every single time I recommend the Norwegian Epic because in my many cruises this is definitely one of the best ships on the waters. It does not matter if you are looking to go on a cruise alone, with your wife or with your whole entire family and friends. The Norwegian Epic has something for everybody of all ages to enjoy and have an experience of a lifetime. They have a superb sports complex, spas, 17 dining options, clubs and spacious staterooms. What more could you ask for?

          Great ship with some exceptions

Pros & Cons

The Pros

Facilities, new, clean

The Cons

Toilets / Shower in the stateroom & Food
The Review
I just got off from a Spring Break cruise with my wife and 2 kids. Great ship with some major design flaws. It has been designed to squeeze as many people as possible on the ship.
Additional Information
Ship Quality:
Clean and well maintained. Our cruise was full and it was hard to get into most shows but not a major problem.
Dining and Food:
Good restaurants but the ingredients were really the poorest quality possible. Steaks at the Steakhouse and hibachi restaurant tasted like they had been frozen and defrosted multiple times. Chicken was the toughest I have ever had. Everything was totally
Stateroom Quality:
The balcony state rooms were way smaller than other NCL cruises we have done (including the Dawn and Pearl). It was a clever design that I could live with, apart from 1 major problem. The translucent toilet and shower pods, directly in the passage way of
Ship Staff Quality:
Excellent!
Entertainment Quality:
Excellent. Circe Dreams was great but food was terrible. Blue Man Group was a watered down version of the real one but still very good.
Family Friendliness:
Excellent and well controlled.
