Pros & Cons

The Pros

Lots of room for what is considered a small ship by today's standards.

The Cons

Not all rooms listed as 3-person are REALLY big enough for 3 people.
The Review
Although we have only sailed the SUN once, it was a great introduction to "Free-Style" cruising. Our cabin was spacious in comparison to other ships that were running the Miami-to-Bahamas itinerary at the time, and there were plenty of options for dining as well. (Again, something limited on other "smaller" ships hitting the 3/4-night Bahamas cruise. The ship was clean as a whistle, and the crew was VERY accomodationg to our every need. Now that the ship is doing the 7-night itineraries to both the East and Western-Caribbean, I can say without a doubt, you won't be lacking for fun, frolic or food over that period of time.
Additional Information
Ship Quality:
Again, keeping in mind, this ship is small by today's "Super-Liner" size ships like RCI's Freedom and Oasis class ships, but in my opinion, you can't miss having a great time on this ship regardless of the number of days you have to enjoy her and her crew
Dining and Food:
Even though we did not try either of the specialty restaurants on this ship, the main diningroom and cafe were superb, and so was the wait-staff.
Stateroom Quality:
As mentioned earlier, this ship provided lots of space in what is otherwise known as "entry-level" or economy interior cabins. We selected a Deck-4 cabin located right behind the purser's desk, and NEVER found our privacy or need for quiet ever a problem.
Ship Staff Quality:
In a word; EXCELLENT! Everyone from the senior officers to the most-junior cabin stewart always greeted us with a smile and hello; followed by "Is there anything I can do to make your cruise better?"
Entertainment Quality:
Good stage shows, including Broadway and Vegas styled venues. The comic on our last night was pretty good too!
Family Friendliness:
Our son LOVED the counselors on the SUN, especially "Porkchop" (Don't ya just love the nik-names they give each other???) The kids club on this ship is right below the Bridge of the ship and is TWO STORIES tall! Lots of activities are provided for ages 3
