Tapas in Barcelona, pasta in Naples, gelato in between.
The Mediterranean is the most cruised sea on earth for a reason: six countries in a week, a different city every morning and the ship as your hotel. Western Med weeks from Barcelona and Rome (Florence, Naples, the French Riviera), Eastern Med to the Greek Isles and Croatia, and Central Med to Malta and Sicily, on everything from MSC and Royal Caribbean to Viking and Oceania, April to November. SmartCruiser shows every Mediterranean sailing with taxes and fees included and puts the ones with SmartCruiser bonus onboard credit at the top.

SmartCruiser picks
Sorted by what you save, biggest firstEvery Mediterranean sailing
Stack any filters, then pick a sortPrices are per person, double occupancy, in US dollars, and include cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses as published by the cruise line at the moment you load this page. Fares are capacity controlled and change daily; the fare is confirmed when you book. Flights, hotels and transfers are extra unless the line’s offer says otherwise. SmartCruiser instant savings and bonus onboard credit are provided by SmartCruiser on top of the cruise line’s price and are not available when booking direct; amounts are per stateroom, vary by stateroom category and are shown for the lowest category offered. Special SmartCruiser rates are pricing SmartCruiser holds on that sailing for its clients, with extra onboard credit; you book your own stateroom and travel on your own. Senior fares apply to guests 55 and over; resident fares need proof of residency in a listed state or province at check-in; police and fire fares apply to active or retired police, fire and EMT personnel with ID. Qualifier-fare savings are measured against the best fare the cruise line offers the general public for the same stateroom category on the day the list was pulled, updated weekly.

Which line for the Mediterranean?
The Med is where the line matters most: port-heavy weeks suit some ships far better than others. Our one-line take, with a link to each deals page.
When to go
April to November, with the Western Med running a little longer at each end. The sweet spots are the shoulders.
Mediterranean cruise questions we answer every day
How many sea days will I get?
Very few. Most 7-night Med cruises visit six ports in seven days. If you want sea days, look at a 10 to 14 night itinerary or a transatlantic crossing at either end of the season.
Do I need a visa or a passport?
A passport valid six months beyond your return. US and Canadian citizens need no visa for the EU or the UK; from 2026 the EU’s ETIAS travel authorization applies and we remind you when you book. Turkey lets cruise passengers ashore for the day without a visa; we confirm that for your sailing.
Should I fly in the day before?
Always. Flights to Europe arrive in the morning after an overnight, and a delay can cost you the ship. Two nights before in Barcelona, Rome or Athens turns the flight into part of the trip.
Western or Eastern Med for a first cruise?
Western if you want Italy, Spain and France in one week with the most ships and the lowest fares. Eastern if you want the islands and warm water and are happy to fly to Athens or Venice. Doing one this year and the other next is how most of our clients end up.
Are taxes and fees included in the prices here?
Yes. Every price on this page includes cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses. Flights, hotels, gratuities, drinks packages and excursions are extra.
What do the SmartCruiser picks mean?
They are sailings where booking through SmartCruiser gets you something you do not get booking direct: instant savings, bonus onboard credit, a Special SmartCruiser rate we hold on that sailing, or a senior, resident or police & fire fare that beats the best public price.
