Vancouver to Sydney, with Hawaii and Tahiti on the way.
Twice a year the Alaska and Australia fleets swap oceans, and the crossings are the best value in cruising: 16 to 25 nights between Vancouver, Seattle or Los Angeles and Sydney, Tokyo or Singapore, with Honolulu, Maui, Bora Bora, Fiji or Guam along the way. Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Holland America and Carnival all do it. SmartCruiser shows every crossing with taxes and fees included, and puts the sailings with SmartCruiser bonus credit at the top.

SmartCruiser instant savings and bonus onboard credit are provided by SmartCruiser on top of the cruise line’s price and are not available when booking direct; amounts are per stateroom, vary by stateroom category and are shown for the lowest category offered. Senior fares apply to guests 55 and over; resident fares need proof of residency in a listed state or province at check-in; police and fire fares apply to active or retired police, fire and EMT personnel with ID. Qualifier-fare savings are measured against the best fare the cruise line offers the general public for the same stateroom category on the day the list was pulled, updated weekly.

Transpacific cruise questions we answer every day
How many sea days are there?
Eight to twelve on a typical 18 to 22 night crossing, broken by Hawaii four or five days out from the West Coast and by Tahiti, Fiji or Samoa in the middle. Nobody is bored; these sailings carry extra enrichment speakers and the crew is at its most relaxed.
Do I need a passport or visas?
A passport valid six months beyond the trip, plus Australia’s ETA or New Zealand’s NZeTA, both electronic, if you end there. Japan and French Polynesia need no visa for US citizens. We confirm every requirement for your exact itinerary when you book.
How do flights work on a one-way cruise?
You fly into one end and home from the other, so look at one-way or multi-city fares, or let us book the air through the cruise line, which often prices the long leg well and protects you if the ship is late.
Is a crossing good value?
Per night, the best in cruising. The lines need to move the ships and price the crossings to fill them, so a balcony for three weeks can cost what a Caribbean week does in peak season, and taxes and fees are already in every price here.
Are taxes and fees included in the prices here?
Yes. Every price on this page includes cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses. Flights, hotels, gratuities, drinks packages and excursions are extra unless the line’s offer says otherwise.
What is the weather like at sea?
Warm and generally gentle: the routes cross the tropics, where swells are long and low. The North Pacific route to Tokyo via the Aleutians is cooler and can be lively; pack layers.
