When to go

Boston is a warm-weather port. Here is how the season moves.

MayThe first Bermuda sailings of the year and the lowest Bermuda fares. The island is quiet and the water is cool but swimmable by late May.
June to AugustPeak Bermuda. Warm water, school holidays, the highest fares of the season. Book balconies by March.
SeptemberThe sweet spot: Bermuda is warm and calmer, Canada and New England begins, and fares ease once schools go back.
OctoberFoliage season. Canada and New England sailings sell out first and cost the most; late October Bermuda is the last warm trip.
November to AprilThe port is quiet. Fly to New York, Baltimore or Florida for winter sailings, or look at our Boston to Caribbean repositionings in late fall.

Boston cruise questions we answer every day

Where is the cruise terminal, and what does parking cost?

The Flynn Cruiseport is on Black Falcon Avenue in the Seaport District, next to the Design Center. Official cruise parking is the Massport garage at 93 Fargo Street beside the terminal, about $25 to $30 a day, or the pre-booked Massport lot on Summer Street with a free shuttle at a flat weekly rate of roughly $190; the nearby Seaport garages are similar. If you are staying the night before, many Seaport hotels offer park-and-cruise packages that are cheaper.

How far is Logan Airport?

About three miles and 10 to 15 minutes by taxi through the Ted Williams Tunnel, or a few minutes longer on the Silver Line. It is one of the easiest airport-to-ship rides in the country. We can add a transfer to your booking.

Should we come in the night before?

If you live in New England, a same-day arrival is fine; boarding starts around 11 a.m. and ships sail about 4 p.m. If you are flying, come in the night before, stay in the Seaport or Back Bay, and treat yourself to a North End dinner.

Do I need a passport to cruise from Boston?

Round-trip Bermuda and Canada sailings are closed-loop, so US citizens can sail with a birth certificate and government photo ID. One-way sailings that end in Quebec City or Montreal, and transatlantic crossings, require a passport. We recommend a passport for everyone: if you need to fly home from Bermuda or Halifax, you cannot board a flight without one.

Are taxes and fees included in the prices here?

Yes. Every price on this page includes cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses. Gratuities, drinks packages, excursions and parking are extra.

What does SmartCruiser add that I would not get booking direct?

Bonus onboard credit per stateroom on sailings where the line allows it, instant savings on selected departures, Special SmartCruiser rates we hold on popular Boston sailings, and senior, Massachusetts and New England resident, and police and fire fares when they beat the public price. The picks at the top of the list are the sailings where that extra applies.
