About Oceania Riviera

Oceania Riviera is the second of the two Oceania Class ships, delivered by Fincantieri in May 2012 as the sister to Marina. She measures 66,172 tons and carries 1,250 guests with a crew of 800 in 625 staterooms and suites, nearly all with a veranda. She was the first ship through the OceaniaNEXT program in 2019 and was re-inspired again in a late 2022 dry dock that brought lighter, brighter staterooms, new suite bathrooms and refreshed public rooms, with the Aquamar Kitchen, evening pizzeria and ice cream parlor added later.

On board the formula is the one Oceania is known for: six open-seating restaurants included in the fare, among them Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill and Toscana, the Culinary Center cooking school, the Artist Loft, a Lalique grand staircase, the Aquamar Spa + Vitality Center and a country-club casual dress code. The ship suits adults who want The Finest Cuisine at Sea on a mid-size ship with room to spread out.

Riviera is Oceania’s Alaska ship, sailing 14 itineraries in summer 2026 round trip from Seattle and between Seattle and Vancouver, calling at Juneau, Ketchikan, Haines and Klawock. In winter 2026-2027 she sails Asia and Africa, with a holiday Sydney to Perth voyage and South Pacific, Australia and New Zealand itineraries, then returns from Singapore and Tokyo to Vancouver in spring 2027 for a second Alaska season from Seattle.

Oceania Riviera questions we answer every day

How big is Oceania Riviera?
Riviera is 66,172 gross tons and about 785 feet long with 625 staterooms and suites on 11 guest decks. She carries 1,250 guests at double occupancy with a crew of 800, which Oceania describes as two staff for every three guests. Delivered by Fincantieri in 2012, she is the sister ship of Marina and was re-inspired in a late 2022 dry dock.
Where does Riviera sail in 2026 and 2027?
Summer 2026 is Alaska, with 14 itineraries of 7 to 13 days round trip from Seattle or between Seattle and Vancouver, calling at Juneau, Ketchikan, Haines and Klawock. In winter 2026-2027 she sails Asia and Africa, Australia and the South Pacific, including a Sydney to Perth holiday voyage on December 15, 2026. She returns from Singapore and Tokyo to Vancouver in spring 2027 for a second Alaska season from Seattle.
Is Riviera a good ship for Alaska?
Yes for travelers who want a quieter, food-focused Alaska. At 1,250 guests she is far smaller than the mainstream Alaska ships, fits ports such as Haines and Klawock, and spends long days in Juneau and Ketchikan. There are no kids clubs or waterslides; the draw is the six included restaurants, Horizons for glacier viewing and the Aquamar Spa Terrace.
Which staterooms are the best choice?
Veranda and Concierge Level Veranda staterooms at about 282 square feet are the mainstay, with Concierge Level adding the Concierge Lounge, laundry and Spa Terrace access. Penthouse Suites at about 420 square feet add a butler and a tub. The Oceania, Vista and Owner’s Suites give separate living and dining rooms, and the Owner’s Suites are furnished by Ralph Lauren Home.
What is included in the fare on Riviera?
All six restaurants are included with no surcharge, including Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill and Toscana, along with Aquamar Kitchen, the pizzeria, ice cream parlor, Baristas, afternoon tea, room service, soft drinks, bottled water, specialty coffees and teas, shows and lectures. La Reserve, Privée, Culinary Center classes, spa treatments, alcohol packages and shore excursions are extra. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Oceania allows it, not available when you book direct.
How does Riviera differ from Marina?
The two are near-identical sisters with the same restaurants, Culinary Center and suite designers. Riviera received her re-inspiration in late 2022, while Marina entered Fincantieri’s Genoa yard in October 2026 for a deeper refit that adds a Founders Bar, Bakery and Chef’s Studio. Riviera is the Alaska and Pacific ship; Marina spends winter 2026-2027 in the Caribbean from Miami.
