Resident cruise deals

Your state can be the reason your cruise costs less.

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity publish resident fares on selected sailings for guests who live in particular states and provinces, most often Florida, Texas, Georgia, the Carolinas, New York and New Jersey, and they can be the lowest fare on the ship that week. SmartCruiser checks every sailing against the public price, lists the ones where a resident fare wins at the top of this page with a state filter, and shows every other cruise below it, all priced with taxes, fees and port expenses included.

Resident cruise fare questions we answer every day

How do resident cruise fares work?

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity price selected sailings lower for residents of particular states and provinces. One guest in the stateroom must live in a qualifying state and show proof of residency, usually a driver’s license, at check-in; everyone in that stateroom then sails at the resident fare. The qualifying states change by sailing, which is why the picks carry a state selector.

Which states qualify?

It varies by sailing. Florida, Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, New York, New Jersey and the Carolinas appear most often for Caribbean and Bahamas cruises; California, Washington and Oregon for Alaska and Mexico; Ontario and Quebec for Canada and New England. Each pick names the states it covers, and the selector filters to yours.

Is the resident fare always the best deal?

No. On many sailings the public promotion is lower, so SmartCruiser measures the resident fare against the best public fare for the same stateroom category every week and lists only the sailings where the resident fare wins. The amount it wins by is on each card.

Can I combine a resident fare with other offers?

It replaces the public fare rather than stacking with it, but it does combine with SmartCruiser’s bonus onboard credit where the line allows it, with loyalty perks and with prepaid packages. If you also qualify for a senior or police & fire fare we check which one is lower.

Are taxes and fees included in the prices here?

Yes. Every price on this page includes cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses. Flights, hotels, gratuities, drinks packages and excursions are extra.

What do the SmartCruiser picks mean?

They are sailings where booking through SmartCruiser gets you something you do not get booking direct: a resident, senior or police & fire fare that beats the best public price, instant savings, bonus onboard credit, or a Special SmartCruiser rate we hold on that sailing.
