About Oceania Aurelia

Oceania Aurelia is the ship Oceania calls The Ultimate Explorer, a bow-to-stern transformation of Oceania Nautica under the OceaniaNEXT program, announced in April 2026 and debuting in late 2027. The rebuilt ship carries fewer than 500 guests with 400 officers and crew, nearly one crew member per guest, in 238 accommodations, 179 of them suites. Most suites exceed 300 square feet and some reach 1,000 square feet, many with separate living and dining areas, and every suite has a dedicated butler.

Oceania designed Aurelia for extended voyages: a smaller, club-like ship with the residential feel of a boutique hotel. Evening dining covers the Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, the Terrace Café, Waves Grill and an evening Pizzeria, with Baristas moving into Horizons and gaining a Bakery and a Crêperie. New spaces include the Founders Bar for mixology, a Chef’s Studio for culinary workshops, the Artist Loft, the LYNC Digital Center and a library, plus unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace for every guest, a first for the line.

Her first voyage, a 7-day Mediterranean Debut from Rome to Trieste, departs November 29, 2027, followed by Trieste to Athens, Athens to Barcelona, Barcelona to Lisbon and a January 4, 2028 crossing to Miami. On January 18, 2028 she leaves Miami on a 180-day Around the World voyage to New York, with a christening in Miami, then a 78-day Nordic and Baltic Grand Voyage, Canada and New England, a 71-day South America and Antarctica voyage and a second 180-day world cruise from Los Angeles on January 6, 2029.

Oceania Aurelia questions we answer every day

What is Oceania Aurelia?
Aurelia is the transformed Oceania Nautica, rebuilt under the OceaniaNEXT program and relaunching in late 2027 as a ship for fewer than 500 guests with 400 officers and crew. Of her 238 accommodations, 179 are suites, every suite has a butler, and all guests get unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace. Oceania calls her The Ultimate Explorer and has built her schedule around 180-day world cruises and Grand Voyages.
When does Aurelia debut and where does she sail?
The first voyage departs Rome on November 29, 2027, a 7-day Mediterranean Debut to Trieste, followed by a 12-day Trieste to Athens Oceania Club reunion, a holiday Athens to Barcelona cruise on December 18, Barcelona to Lisbon on December 28 and a Lisbon to Miami crossing on January 4, 2028. The 180-day Around the World voyage leaves Miami on January 18, 2028 for New York, and a second departs Los Angeles on January 6, 2029.
What are the Grand Voyages on Aurelia?
Besides the two world cruises, Oceania has announced a 78-day Grand Nordic and Baltic Discovery from New York to Boston on July 18, 2028, an 11-day Boston to Montreal fall foliage cruise on October 4, 2028, a 12-day Montreal to Miami Colonial Journey on October 15, 2028 and a 71-day Grand South America Adventure from Miami to Los Angeles on October 27, 2028 that circles South America with the Antarctic Peninsula and Machu Picchu.
Which suites are the best choice?
Penthouse Suites make up most of the 179 suites and give more than 300 square feet with a butler, which is comfortable for a long segment. The new Oceania and Horizon Suites add separate living and dining areas and oversized verandas, and the Vista and Owner’s Suites reach about 1,000 square feet for guests spending months aboard. Oceania has not yet published full square footage by category.
What is included in the fare on Aurelia?
The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Café, Waves Grill, the evening Pizzeria, Baristas, the Bakery and Crêperie are included, along with afternoon tea, butler service in every suite, unlimited Aquamar Spa Terrace access, room service, soft drinks, bottled water, specialty coffees and teas, lectures and entertainment. Spa treatments, alcohol packages and shore excursions are extra. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Oceania allows it, not available when you book direct.
How does Aurelia differ from Nautica?
The hull and nine-deck layout come from Nautica, a 30,277-ton Regatta Class ship built in 2000, but capacity drops from about 670 guests to fewer than 500 by combining rooms into larger suites. Nautica’s Artist Loft, Library and Horizons remain, joined by the Founders Bar, Chef’s Studio, LYNC Digital Center, Bakery and Crêperie. Nautica sails her regular program through 2027 before the conversion.
