About Silver Origin

Silver Origin is the ship Silversea built specifically for the Galapagos, delivered by De Hoop in the Netherlands in 2020 and registered in Ecuador. At 5,800 gross tons it carries 100 guests in 51 suites with a crew of 90, which Silversea calls the highest crew-to-guest ratio in the islands, and a team of Ecuadorian national expert guides leads every landing. Silversea describes it as the most elegant ship ever to sail the Galapagos.

Every suite has a butler and a private veranda, many with the Horizon Balcony that turns the balcony into an indoor seating area at the touch of a button, and all include in-suite water purification, eco-friendly amenities and expedition gear to keep. Days start at Basecamp, the briefing room beside the Marina where the eight Zodiacs load, and end in the Explorer Lounge by its outdoor fire pit. The Restaurant and the poolside Grill cover dining, and the Observation Lounge and deck 8 stargazing area top the ship.

Silver Origin sails year-round seven night expeditions round trip from San Cristobal, alternating two itineraries that between them cover the western and central islands, including Fernandina, Isabela, Santiago, Genovesa, North Seymour and Espanola. Silversea arranges charter flights between Quito and San Cristobal and pre-cruise hotel nights, and the two loops can be sailed back to back for a fuller circuit. It suits travelers who want the full wildlife circuit with Silversea service.
