About Viking Sky
Viking Sky entered service in 2017 as Viking’s third ocean ship. She is an identical sister to Viking Star and Viking Sea: 47,800 gross tons, 745 feet long, 930 guests in 465 staterooms, every one with a private veranda. Built by Fincantieri in Italy, she carries the same Scandinavian interiors, the same two-story Explorers’ Lounge over the bow and the same Nordic Spa with a snow grotto. Viking classes her as a small ship, so she docks where larger ships cannot.
She is built for adults who want the destination to be the point of the trip. There is no casino and no children’s program; instead the days are filled with lectures from a resident historian and guest speakers, classical music from the Viking Resident Musicians, afternoon tea in the Wintergarden and evenings in Torshavn. One shore excursion in every port, Wi-Fi, beer and wine with lunch and dinner and the alternative restaurants are all part of the fare.
Through 2026 and 2027 Viking lists Viking Sky on Mediterranean itineraries of 8 to 15 days between Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia), Venice (Chioggia), Athens (Piraeus), Istanbul and Lisbon, and in summer 2027 on Northern Europe: the 15-day British Isles Explorer from Bergen to London (Greenwich), Viking Homelands from Stockholm to Bergen and the new British Isles & Ireland voyage from London to Belfast.
- Every one of the 465 staterooms has a private veranda
- Adults-only ship for guests 18 and over, with no casino on board
- The Nordic Spa with a snow grotto, sauna, thermal pool and heated loungers, open to every guest
- Infinity pool off the Aquavit Terrace and a Main Pool with a retractable roof
- Explorers’ Lounge with two-story windows over the bow, home to Mamsen’s Norwegian deli
- One included shore excursion in every port of call
- Manfredi’s Italian Restaurant and The Chef’s Table at no extra charge
- Summer 2027 British Isles and Viking Homelands voyages from Bergen, London and Stockholm
