Avalon View: ship guide
Avalon's newest 166-guest Suite Ship in Europe, sailing the Rhine, Rhone and Saone.
Best for: Guests who want Avalon’s newest European ship, whether on the Rhine between Amsterdam and Basel or on a Rhone and Saone cruise through Provence and Burgundy. Sails from Amsterdam, Basel in 2026 and 2027.

About Avalon View
Avalon View is the newest of Avalon Waterways’ 443-foot Suite Ships in Europe. Announced for a 2020 christening by Meredith Vieira at Ybbs on the Danube, its debut was pushed back by the pandemic and it entered service in 2022 with the line’s current interiors already in place, so it sits outside the 2024 to 2026 refresh program. It carries 166 guests in 83 staterooms, 67 of them suites, with a 3-to-1 guest-to-crew ratio.
Two full decks of 200-square-foot Panorama Suites give the ship its character: a wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling window slides open seven feet wide to become the Open-Air Balcony and the Comfort Collection bed faces the river. Two Royal Suites of 300 square feet sit on the Royal Deck. Guests dine in the glass-walled Panorama Dining Room, the Panorama Bistro or at the Sky Grill, with wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, sparkling wine at breakfast and a daily Happy Hour.
For 2026 and 2027 Avalon View is Avalon’s most-traveled ship: Romantic Rhine and Romantic Rhine for Wine Lovers between Amsterdam and Basel, Active and Discovery on the Rhine, Christmastime on the Romantic Rhine in 2026, and sailings on the Rhone and Saone in Provence and Burgundy, with Main and Danube dates as well. It suits guests who want the newest Avalon ship and are flexible about which river they see first.
