About Tonle Pandaw

Tonle Pandaw is the one ship in the Pandaw fleet with true suites. Built in Yangon in 2002, refitted in 2013 and given new guest accommodations in 2025, she carries just 48 guests in 20 teak-and-brass staterooms and four Tonle Suites of 430 square feet with their own private deck, French windows on both sides, butler service, in-suite Wi-Fi and satellite TV. Pandaw calls her an old favorite with a glowing ambience, and her ultra-shallow draft of about 1.5 meters lets her push into low-water stretches.

Days follow the Pandaw pattern: semi-buffet breakfast and lunch, seated theme dinners in the formal dining room, a fan-cooled saloon bar with nightly entertainment, a sundeck bar with free ice cream and a 24-hour hospitality bar. A professional spa and library sit on the lower deck, and there is an art gallery, a lecture room and a fair-trade shop. Excursions by coach, deluxe sampan and on foot are included, led by local guides.

For 2026 Tonle Pandaw is assigned to the seven-night Classic Mekong between Saigon and Siem Reap, with published departures in October and November 2026, and to Pandaw’s new three-night Saigon to Phnom Penh short cruise, where the Tonle Suites are offered as an upgrade. She suits couples who want the most spacious accommodation Pandaw offers on the Vietnam and Cambodia Mekong.

Families and who it suits

Pandaw says its ships are not suitable for children under 8 because the open rails have no safety netting; older children share a cabin with an adult, and Pandaw designates certain school-holiday departures as family friendly with child offers.

Best for: Couples who want Pandaw’s small-ship Mekong experience with the option of a real suite, butler and private deck, on the Classic Mekong or the short Saigon to Phnom Penh cruise.

Tonle Pandaw questions we answer every day

How big is Tonle Pandaw?
Tonle Pandaw is a 24-cabin P class river ship for 48 guests, 180 feet (54.8 meters) long with a 33 foot beam and an ultra-shallow draft of about 4 feet. She was built in Yangon in 2002, refitted in 2013 and had her guest accommodations retrofitted in 2025. Pandaw describes her as one of the larger ships in its fleet, though she carries fewer guests than the 56-guest sisters.
What are the Tonle Suites?
The four Tonle Suites are the only suites in the Pandaw fleet. Each is about 430 square feet, double the size of a standard cabin, with French windows on both sides, a private deck, a new bathroom with a natural stone shower, butler service, in-suite Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a fruit bowl, free laundry and a welcome gift. They are double-bed only and sit on the upper deck.
Where does Tonle Pandaw sail in 2026 and 2027?
For 2026 Pandaw lists her on the seven-night Classic Mekong between Saigon and Siem Reap, with departures in October and November 2026, and on the new three-night Saigon to Phnom Penh cruise from My Tho port via Ben Tre and Chau Doc. No 2027 Classic Mekong departures are published for her at the time of writing; the Mekong, Bassac and Indochina Pandaw cover that season.
What is included in the fare on Tonle Pandaw?
Main meals, guided excursions and entrance fees, English-speaking guides, crew gratuities, local mineral water, jugged coffee, teas and tisanes, a welcome cocktail and the stocked cabin minibar. Bar drinks, wine, spa treatments, laundry, visas, port dues and tips to local guides and drivers are extra. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Pandaw allows it, not available when you book direct.
Is there Wi-Fi and air conditioning on Tonle Pandaw?
Every cabin, the dining room and the lower deck are air-conditioned; the saloon bar on Tonle Pandaw is fan-cooled, as on her sisters Bassac and Indochina. Wi-Fi is available in the main public areas and on the sundeck, and the Tonle Suites are the only Pandaw cabins with in-room Wi-Fi. Connections can be slow in rural stretches of the river.
Who is Tonle Pandaw best for?
Couples who like the colonial character and small size of a Pandaw ship but want more space and service than a 170 square foot cabin offers. The suites make her the fleet’s top-end choice on the Mekong, and the three-night Saigon to Phnom Penh cruise is a good fit for travelers adding a short river segment to a Vietnam and Cambodia land tour.
