About Kindat Pandaw
Kindat Pandaw is an 18-stateroom K class river ship built in Myanmar in 2014 and named for a small town on the Upper Chindwin, after an 1886 Yarrow-built Irrawaddy Flotilla Company steamer. Pandaw describes her as the ship that perfected a concept first tested on Katha and Angkor Pandaw: a two-deck vessel with a draft of under four feet that could go almost anywhere at any time, carrying 30 to 40 guests with plenty of outdoor deck space. Kalaw Pandaw is her identical sister.
She spent her early years on Myanmar’s Chindwin and upper Irrawaddy, the shallow rivers she was designed for. With Pandaw’s Myanmar program now limited to the Irrawaddy Delta, Kindat Pandaw has been redeployed to India, where she operates Pandaw’s Brahmaputra expeditions in Assam: the seven-night Brahmaputra round trip from Guwahati, the ten-night Full Brahmaputra and All Assam on the Brahmaputra, with departures from November through February in 2026-2027 and October through December 2027.
On board are eight upper-deck and ten main-deck staterooms of about 170 square feet in teak and brass, an air-conditioned bistro dining room with outside seating, an open-air lounge and bar, a 24-hour hospitality bar, an onboard bakery and a library. India sailings include Pandaw’s complimentary drinks package of local beer, spirits, mixers, soft drinks and house wine with lunch and dinner. The Kaziranga jeep safari for one-horned rhinoceros is the headline excursion.
