Best for: Travelers who want an all-inclusive small-ship Alaska or San Juan Islands cruise on a US-flagged ship with big staterooms, included excursions and no crowds. Sails from Tacoma, WA, Juneau, AK in 2026 and 2027.

About American Constitution
American Constitution is the second of American Cruise Lines’ two Constellation Class coastal ships, launched in 2018 by Chesapeake Shipbuilding as a sister to American Constellation. With a traditional bow for coastal water and just 170 guests on six decks, it was designed for the sheltered inland waterways of Alaska and Puget Sound, where it can tuck into small harbors and sit close to glaciers that big ships only view from a distance.
Staterooms are among the largest on any ship this size, from 230-square-foot singles to the 375-square-foot Veranda Suites, most with private balconies. The Cascade Lounge on Deck 3 hosts the daily cocktail hour, talks and evening music, small midship lounges suit a book or a card game, the restaurant on the Main Deck has 270-degree views, and the sun deck carries a putting green and shaded lounge seating. A fitness center is on Deck 5 and an elevator serves every guest deck.
In 2026 and 2027 American Constitution splits its year between Washington and Alaska. Spring and fall bring eight-day Puget Sound & San Juan Islands round trips from Tacoma and the 15-day Northwest National Parks cruise, while summer is spent in Southeast Alaska on round trips from Juneau, Alaska National Parks cruises from Fairbanks and the 16-day Alaska Inside Passage between Juneau and Tacoma. It suits travelers who want a small, US-flagged ship with everything included.
