About American Pioneer
American Pioneer is the second ship in American Cruise Lines’ Patriot Class, the coastal series inside the company’s Project Blue building program. Built at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Maryland, it entered service on October 31, 2025 with a 16-day Grand Florida Coast & Keys cruise from Amelia Island to St. Petersburg and was christened at Mallory Square in Key West on November 10, 2025, with the city’s mayor as godmother. It carries just 130 guests, and every one of its 69 staterooms, singles included, opens onto a private balcony.
The Patriot Class pairs a traditional bow, a slightly deeper draft and full stabilization for smoother coastal sailing with the top-deck layout American introduced on its Coastal Cats: a glass-walled Sky Lounge, a 360-degree Sky Walk track, a Sun Deck and the Back Porch Café. The Chesapeake Lounge at the bow hosts nightly entertainment, the Chart Room and Bow Terrace are quiet spots to follow the route, and the glass-enclosed Restaurant seats everyone together in open seating. Fares include meals, drinks, a daily cocktail hour, an excursion in every port, gratuities, Wi-Fi and a pre-cruise hotel night.
Through the winter of 2026 to 2027 American Pioneer sails nine-day Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises round trip from St. Petersburg, after a 12-day American Revolution cruise between Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia in late October 2026. In May 2027 it heads north for a Cape Codder cruise from Boston, spends June to October 2027 on 16-day Grand New England cruises round trip from Boston, then finishes the season with a Northeast Harbors cruise to New York. It suits travelers who want a brand-new small ship, a big balcony stateroom and all-domestic ports.
