About S.S. Maria Theresa

S.S. Maria Theresa is Uniworld’s Danube Super Ship, launched in 2015 and named for the Habsburg empress. Her decor is a floating homage to 18th-century Vienna, with a portrait of Maria Theresa on the lobby staircase, the Baroque Restaurant, the Habsburg Lounge and the Viennese Café; Cruise Critic editors named her Best New River Ship in her maiden season. At 443 feet she carries 150 guests in 75 staterooms and suites with a staff of 55.

She suits travelers who want the full Super Ship kit on the Danube: an enclosed heated pool in the Bar du Leopard, the intimate Lipizzan Cinema, the Serenity River Spa and a fitness center with TRX sessions on the Sun Deck. Rooms on the Hofburg Deck have the floor-to-ceiling glass that rises at a touch to form a conservatory, every room has a Savoir bed and marble bathroom with Asprey amenities, and designated suites take a third guest.

S.S. Maria Theresa sails the Danube between Budapest and Passau. Her 2026-2027 program is led by the 8-day Enchanting Danube (Budapest to Passau via Bratislava, Vienna, Dürnstein and Linz), the 17-day Cruise & Tour Revel in Switzerland & the Danube from Geneva, and December Danube Holiday Markets and Christmas & New Year’s cruises. July departures are Generations family sailings. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Uniworld allows it, not available booking direct.

Where does S.S. Maria Theresa sail in 2026 and 2027?
She sails the Danube between Budapest and Passau. The core 8-day Enchanting Danube cruise calls at Bratislava, Vienna, Dürnstein in the Wachau and Linz. Which staterooms are best on S.S. Maria Theresa?
Book a Deluxe Balcony stateroom or one of the ten Suites on the Hofburg Deck for the enclosed conservatory balcony that opens at a touch.
