S.S. La Venezia: ship guide
Fortuny fabrics and Murano glass on Uniworld’s 126-guest Venice lagoon ship.
Best for: Couples and friends who want an all-inclusive, boutique-hotel stay afloat in Venice with easy days in Padua, Verona and the lagoon islands, on a small ship that moors in the city. Sails from Venice in 2026 and 2027.

About S.S. La Venezia
S.S. La Venezia is Uniworld’s Italian ship, a 126-guest vessel that was built in 2003 as the River Countess and came out of a complete 2020 redesign as a Super Ship themed on Northern Italy. The interiors draw on the Fortuny fabrics displayed through the ship, with Murano glass, gilded accents and etched artistic details that nod to Venetian style of the early 20th century. At 361 feet with 63 staterooms and a staff of 43, it is one of the more intimate ships in the Uniworld fleet.
Dining is Italian through and through: Ristorante Rialto is the main restaurant, La Cantinetta is the intimate alternative venue, the Panini Bar handles casual bites and Cielo’s lounge opens onto the Lido di Venezia sun deck. All 63 staterooms face the water, from 151-square-foot Classic, Deluxe and French Balcony rooms to four 214-square-foot Suites and two 302-square-foot Grand Suites with butler service. Uniworld’s all-inclusive fare covers meals, unlimited wines, beers and spirits, excursions, Wi-Fi and gratuities.
In 2026 and 2027 the ship sails round trip from Venice on Venice & the Jewels of Veneto, the eight-day cruise of the lagoon and the Po that visits Chioggia, Padua, Verona, Bologna and the islands, and anchors longer cruise-and-rail and cruise-and-tour journeys that add Slovenia, Rome, Sicily, Istanbul, Milan and the Alps. It suits travelers who want a slow, all-inclusive look at Venice and the Veneto with a boutique-hotel feel and a ship small enough to moor in the city itself.

Families and who it suits
Uniworld welcomes children aged 5 and older on its European ships, with under-18s sharing a cabin with an adult of 21 or over, but it makes no special arrangements for young children and offers few kids’ activities outside its Generations Collection family departures, which are not scheduled on S.S. La Venezia for 2026 or 2027; this ship is better suited to adults and to families with older teens.
