About Amadeus Cara
Amadeus Cara joined the Amadeus River Cruises fleet in 2022 as a custom-designed boutique ship for the Rhine and the Danube. At 443 feet with four decks, she carries a maximum of 162 guests in 71 outside cabins and 10 Amadeus Suites, looked after by a crew of about 46. Amadeus, the river brand of family-owned Lueftner Cruises of Innsbruck, Austria, calls her a highlight of the fleet, and her layout set the template that the Riva, Nova and Aurea have since refined.
Life on board centers on the Panorama Restaurant, the Panorama Bar and Lounge with its nightly live music, Café Vienna for Viennese coffee and pastries, and the Amadeus Club, a quiet retreat with books, board games and a 24-hour coffee and tea station. The open-air River Terrace in the bow and the sun deck are the places to watch castles and vineyards slide past. Cabins on the Mozart and Strauss decks have full-width panoramic windows that lower at the push of a button, and every suite has a walk-out exterior balcony.
In 2026 and 2027 Amadeus Cara divides her year between the Classical Rhine between Amsterdam and Basel, Danube Rhapsody round trips from Passau and the Classical Danube between Passau and Budapest, with Tulip Serenade sailings from Amsterdam in spring. New for 2027 are the Blue Danube from Nuremberg to Budapest, the Three-Rivers Cruise from Amsterdam to Nuremberg, German Riverscapes from Passau to Trier and a 15-day Across Europe voyage from Amsterdam to Budapest. She suits couples who want a newer mid-size ship with wine and beer included at meals and guided excursions in every port.
