Deposit

The deposit is a percentage of the cruise fare, due within five days of booking when you book more than 150 days out. Closer to sailing the whole fare is due almost at once.

Cruise lengthDeposit
60 nights or less, every suite except the Regent Suite15% of the cruise fare per person
60 nights or less, Regent Suite25% of the cruise fare per person
61 nights or more and World Cruises10% within five days, a second deposit bringing it to 30% at 270 days before sailing (Regent Suite: one 25% deposit)

Good to know

  • Booked 150 to 91 days before sailing: the full fare within 3 days. Booked 90 to 31 days out: within 24 hours. Booked inside 30 days: the same day. A booking that misses its date cancels automatically.
  • Nonrefundable deposit option: on bookings made 180 days or more before sailing on cruises of 60 nights or less, you can take 5% off the fare in exchange for a deposit that is never refunded; the rest of the fare follows the normal schedule. Not available in the Regent Suite and not combinable with reduced-deposit offers.
  • The standard deposit is refundable less Regent's administration fee until the percentage schedule starts 150 days before sailing (211 days on cruises of 61 nights or more).
  • Passport details and special onboard requests are due with the final payment.

Final payment

The balance must reach Regent by the deadline below or the booking cancels automatically. Regent can charge it automatically to the card used for the deposit if you ask.

Standard schedule

Cruise lengthBalance due

Good to know

  • Bookings made inside the deadline follow the deposit rules above: the full fare within 3 days, 24 hours or the same day depending on how close to sailing you book.
  • Air booked through Regent follows the same dates; a passenger name change on any Regent flight inside a year of departure costs $500.
  • Regent cannot add air to a cruise-only booking inside 90 days of sailing unless it confirms space.

Cancellation charges

Charges are a percentage of the cruise fare (and any air booked through Regent) and depend on when Regent receives your written cancellation. Taxes and fees are refunded. The Regent Suite follows a stricter schedule than the other suites.

Good to know

  • Cancellations must be in writing and reach Regent no later than the day before the next penalty step: tell SmartCruiser and we send it the same day.
  • Refunds go back to the original credit card, or to SmartCruiser when we made the payment for you, and we pass them straight on.
  • No refund for a no-show, for leaving the ship early or for unused parts of the cruise, air or land programs.
  • Removing a guest from a booking or substituting a name inside the penalty period counts as a cancellation for that guest.
  • Insurance bought through Regent is refundable until the final payment date; after that it is not.

Gratuities

Regent is all-inclusive: gratuities for suite attendants, butlers, dining and bar staff are in the fare, along with drinks, Wi-Fi, specialty dining and excursions. There is nothing to prepay and nothing added to your shipboard account for service.

StateroomDaily gratuity
All suites, every sailingIncluded in the fare
Serene Spa & Wellness treatmentsGratuity added at the spa

Good to know

  • The spa is the one exception: a service gratuity is added to spa and salon treatments.
  • Tipping on board beyond that is at your discretion and never expected.
  • Ask SmartCruiser what your fare includes on a given sailing; Regent's Ultimate All-Inclusive fares add business-class air on some itineraries.

Regent's age rules are the same on every sailing. Age is counted on the first day of the cruise.

Every sailing: minimum age to travel without an adult of 18 or older in the same suite18

Stateroom assignment

Any guest under 18 must be accompanied by, and occupy the same suite as, an adult of 18 or older. Regent has no youth program: the Club Mariner program runs only on selected holiday and summer sailings, so children travel as guests of the adults with them.

Good to know

  • Casino: 18 and older to enter or gamble.
  • Guests who will have entered the 24th week of pregnancy at the start of or at any time during the cruise cannot sail.
  • Spa and fitness facilities: 16 and older.
  • An infant who does not meet the age rule is denied boarding with no refund, so check the first sailing day against the birthday before you book.

How SmartCruiser handles the fine print for you

  • We put your 150-day final payment date on our calendar and remind you before it, so a booking never cancels by accident.
  • Before final payment we watch your sailing for Regent promotions and reprice the booking when the line allows it.
  • Regent takes cancellations in writing only, so we handle cancellations, date changes and suite moves with Regent directly and tell you the exact charge before you decide.
  • Flights, hotels and travel protection go on your invoice if you want them, and your Seven Seas Society number goes on the reservation.
  • SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on top of Regent's own offers on every sailing. Ask for it when you call 1-800-444-1560.

Last verified October 13, 2026 against Regent Seven Seas Cruises's own pages: Terms and conditions (deposit, payment, cancellation, age), Onboard FAQ (dress code, gratuities, alcohol, casino), Pricing FAQ. These deposit, payment and cancellation terms are the ones Regent Seven Seas Cruises publishes for bookings made in the United States and Canada. Cruises of 61 nights or more and World Cruises have their own schedule, shown below, and other countries have their own booking conditions. Policies change; the cruise line's ticket contract and the terms on your booking confirmation govern.
