About Nieuw Statendam
Nieuw Statendam is the second of Holland America Line’s three Pinnacle Class ships, delivered by Fincantieri in December 2018 and christened by Oprah Winfrey in Fort Lauderdale in February 2019. At 99,500 gross tons with 2,666 guests at double occupancy and 1,339 staterooms, it shares the Koningsdam layout: a three-deck atrium, a Lido Pool under a retractable roof, an adults-only Sea View Pool aft and the Music Walk of Rolling Stone Lounge, Billboard Onboard and B.B. King’s Blues Club.
Dining is the fullest in the fleet. Alongside the two-level Dining Room, Lido Market, Dive-In, New York Deli & Pizza and Grand Dutch Café, the ship carries Pinnacle Grill, Tamarind, Canaletto, Sel de Mer, Morimoto By Sea and a Morimoto By Sea sushi counter, plus the Club Orange dining room for guests who buy that upgrade. World Stage shows play on a two-story LED wall, and the Greenhouse Spa & Salon has a thermal suite and hydropool.
Nieuw Statendam is Holland America’s most flexible European ship. For winter 2026 to 2027 it sails 7 day Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale and a holiday departure from Miami, then returns to Rotterdam in spring 2027 for Norway, Baltic, Iceland and British Isles voyages with Dover as an alternate embarkation. From November 2027 it stays in Europe year round with Canary Islands, Christmas markets and Mediterranean sailings from Rotterdam, Barcelona and Athens. It suits travelers who like a modern mid-sized ship with lots of restaurants and European itineraries.
