Solo cruises

Cruising solo: the ships with single staterooms, the lines that waive the supplement, and every sailing priced live.

Cruising alone is easy once you know which ships were built for it. Norwegian’s Studios, Royal Caribbean’s and Celebrity’s single staterooms, Holland America’s singles, Cunard’s single cabins and Virgin’s Solo Insiders are priced for one, and most lines waive or cut the single supplement on selected sailings they want to fill. SmartCruiser shows every sailing from every line, priced live with taxes, fees and port expenses included, and a specialist who checks the solo fare on your sailing against the double-occupancy price before you book. Prices on the cards are per person for two sharing, as the lines publish them; call 1-800-444-1560 and we price it for one.

Solo cruise questions we answer every day

What is the single supplement?

Cruise fares are quoted per person for two sharing a stateroom. A solo traveler in a regular stateroom pays the single supplement, from 0% to 100% of the second fare depending on the line and the sailing. Single staterooms are priced for one and carry no supplement; on other sailings the lines reduce or waive it when they want to fill the ship. We check your exact sailing before you book.

Which ships have single staterooms?

Norwegian Epic, Breakaway, Getaway, Escape, Bliss, Encore, Prima, Viva and Aqua (Studios); Royal Caribbean’s Quantum, Oasis and Icon class ships; Celebrity Edge, Apex, Beyond, Ascent and Xcel; most Holland America ships; Cunard’s four Queens; and every Virgin ship. They sell out early, so book as soon as the sailing opens.

Will I meet other solo travelers?

Norwegian’s Studio Lounge and Virgin’s solo meet-ups are built for it; Holland America, Cunard and Princess host solo gatherings on every sailing; Royal Caribbean and Celebrity list a solo meet-up in the daily program. Tell us it matters and we steer you to the right ship.

Is cruising alone safe?

Yes. Ships are secure, staff know who is on board, and shore excursions through the line keep you with a group and back before sailing. Many solo travelers consider cruises the easiest way to travel alone.

Are taxes and fees included in the prices here?

Yes. Every price on this page includes cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses, per person for two sharing as the lines publish them. Flights, hotels, gratuities and excursions are extra, and we quote the solo fare for your sailing by phone.

Do the SmartCruiser picks apply to solo travelers?

Yes. Bonus onboard credit and Special SmartCruiser rates are per stateroom, so a solo traveler receives the whole credit; senior, resident and police & fire fares apply to the qualifying guest.
