Seine river cruise questions we answer every day
Where does a Seine cruise go?
Round trip from Paris: Vernon for Monet’s gardens at Giverny, Les Andelys and Château Gaillard, Rouen, Caudebec-en-Caux or Honfleur, and a full day at the Normandy D-Day beaches. Most sailings spend the first and last night docked in Paris.
How long is a Seine cruise?
7 nights is standard. Several lines sell 10 to 11 night versions with Paris hotel nights, and a few 5 night Christmas sailings in December.
Is the Seine good for a first river cruise?
Yes, especially if Paris is on the list. It is the only major river cruise that starts and ends in a capital you would visit anyway, the distances are short, and the D-Day day is a highlight for American travelers.
Are flights included?
Some lines sell the cruise with air included or at a fixed add-on and we price it both ways. Paris is the easiest European city to fly into from the U.S.
Are taxes and fees included in the prices here?
Yes. Every price on this page includes cruise fare, taxes, fees and port expenses. Flights, hotels, gratuities where not included and optional excursions are extra.
Do you have other French rivers?
Yes: the Rhône and Saône from Lyon and Avignon, and the Garonne and Dordogne from Bordeaux.
