About Amadeus Aurea
Amadeus Aurea is the newest ship in the Amadeus River Cruises fleet, new in 2026 and christened in the port of Amsterdam on May 12, 2026 by godmother Kristie Keller, a travel advisor, alongside the Lueftner family, Captain Sorin Staicu and the 46-member crew. She is 443 feet long with four decks and carries a maximum of 158 guests in 67 outside cabins and 12 Amadeus Suites. Amadeus calls her the natural evolution of the fleet and a new generation on the river.
Aurea builds on the 2024 Nova with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, a large battery that covers power peaks, high-performance filters and catalytic converters, a heat-recovery system, solar panels that generate extra power, special glass panelling that reduces heat loss and a semi-autonomous control and positioning system. On deck she has a heated outdoor pool and Lido Bar on the sun deck, wind-protected lounge areas, the open Café Vienna gallery, the River Terrace, a fitness room and a dedicated massage area.
Her 2026 and 2027 program is the broadest in the fleet. On the Rhine she sails the Classical Rhine between Amsterdam and Basel, Rhine in Flames, a Rhine concert cruise with André Rieu from Cologne to Amsterdam, 11-day Switzerland and Rhine journeys between Zurich and Amsterdam, a golf cruise and a wine cruise to Strasbourg, plus Tulip Serenade and Best of Holland and Belgium loops from Amsterdam. On the Danube she runs Passau round trips, Passau to Budapest and the 11-day Bucharest to Vienna voyage, and in winter Advent, Christmas and New Year’s Eve cruises on the Rhine, Main and Danube.
