About Amadeus Nova
Amadeus Nova, delivered in 2024, is the ship that introduced hybrid diesel-electric propulsion to Amadeus River Cruises. A large battery covers power peaks without extra generators, the main engines carry high-performance filters and catalytic converters, a heat-recovery system reuses thermal energy, and a semi-autonomous control system supports the captain on safety and fuel efficiency. She is 443 feet long with four decks and carries a maximum of 158 guests in 67 outside cabins and 12 Amadeus Suites with a crew of about 46.
Amadeus describes Nova as roomier and more luxurious than the Cara or Riva, with more open-air space, floor-to-ceiling windows in the suites and, for the first time in the fleet, a heated swimming pool and Lido Bar on the sun deck. The Panorama Restaurant, the Amadeus Lounge for light lunches, Café Vienna and a fitness room complete the public rooms, and the Mozart and Strauss deck cabins keep the signature drop-down panoramic window.
Nova is the fleet’s Danube specialist in 2026 and 2027. Alongside Danube Rhapsody round trips from Passau and the Classical Danube between Passau and Budapest, she sails the 10 and 11-day 1,200 Miles on the Beautiful Blue Danube between Vienna and Bucharest through the Iron Gates to the Danube Delta, 14 and 15-day Lower Danube and Transylvania programs, a 16-day Danube Delta round trip from Passau in 2027, a wine cruise, German Riverscapes from Passau to Trier, and Advent, Christmas and New Year cruises on the Danube, Main and Rhine. She suits travelers who want the newest technology and the longer Danube voyages.
