About American Constellation
American Constellation is a 170-guest Constellation Class coastal ship built in 2017 and designed for the inland waterways of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska, where it reaches ports larger ships cannot access. A traditional bow for coastal travel, elevators to every passenger deck, a Main Deck restaurant with 270-degree views, the Sky Lounge for the daily cocktail hour, the Cascade Lounge for evening music, a reading lounge and The Study, a fitness center and a sun deck with a putting green make it the most complete of the line’s Northwest ships.
American Cruise Lines calls these the largest staterooms in the industry, and on this ship that means Deluxe Waterview rooms of 275 square feet, Deluxe and Premium Balcony rooms of 300 square feet with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, Veranda Suites of 375 square feet, Sky Suites of 355 square feet on deck 5, and Single Balcony rooms of 250 square feet for solo travelers. Every room has a full-size bathroom and spacious closets.
In 2026 and 2027 American Constellation splits its year between Puget Sound and Alaska. It sails the eight-night Puget Sound and San Juan Islands Cruise round trip from Tacoma in spring and fall, repositions north on the 15-night Alaska Inside Passage Cruise in late May 2027, then runs Southeast Alaska round trips from Juneau all summer along with Alaskan Explorer cruises between Juneau and Ketchikan and Alaska National Parks packages from Fairbanks before returning to Tacoma in September.
