About American Glory

American Glory is the second of American Cruise Lines’ Coastal Cats, delivered by Chesapeake Shipbuilding in November 2023 and christened in Key West after its inaugural voyage from Maryland to Florida. A 100-guest catamaran on four decks with 56 staterooms, it blends the access of expedition cruising with the comfort and stability of a river cruise: the twin hulls draw little water, so it reaches small ports and can travel almost any river or protected waterway in the country.

Observation and sitting areas fill the bow, the sun deck has a walking track, and the stern carries a swim and activity platform with a tender for local exploration. Every stateroom has a private balcony or a Main Deck picture window with a built-in bench, from 250-square-foot singles to the 550-square-foot Grand Suite. The interior is modern and calm, with artwork that nods to American history, and fares include all meals, drinks, excursions and a hotel night.

American Glory covers the length of the East Coast in 2026 and 2027. Winter and spring go to Southeast Sea Islands cruises between Charleston and Amelia Island, then the East Coast Inland Passage carries it to Washington, D.C., and the Potomac & Chesapeake Bay cruise to Baltimore. Summer is spent on New England Islands round trips from Providence, with Cape Codder and Northeast Harbors cruises, before Hudson River Fall Foliage from Albany and a Great Rivers of Florida cruise from Jacksonville.

American Glory questions we answer every day

How big is American Glory?
American Glory is a 100-guest catamaran with four decks and 56 staterooms, built by Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Maryland and delivered in November 2023 as the second of American Cruise Lines’ Coastal Cats. The line does not publish tonnage, length or crew numbers. Staterooms run from 250 to 550 square feet, and an elevator serves every deck.
Where does American Glory sail in 2026 and 2027?
American Glory follows the seasons up and down the East Coast. From November through April it sails Southeast Sea Islands cruises between Charleston and Amelia Island, then rides the East Coast Inland Passage north to Washington, D.C., and the Potomac & Chesapeake Bay cruise to Baltimore. From late May to mid-September it runs New England Islands round trips from Providence plus Northeast Harbors and Cape Codder cruises, then Hudson River Fall Foliage from Albany in October before heading back to Florida.
What is a Coastal Cat?
It is American Cruise Lines’ name for its series of 100-guest catamarans, built under the company’s Project Blue program at Chesapeake Shipbuilding. The twin-hull design gives a shallow draft and a stable ride, so the ships can enter small ports and travel rivers and inland waterways that conventional ships cannot, while a wide stern platform carries a tender and kayaks. American Eagle was first, American Glory second, followed by American Liberty and American Legend.
What is included in the fare on American Glory?
American Cruise Lines is all-inclusive. The fare covers all meals and snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks around the clock, the daily cocktail hour, a one-night pre-cruise hotel stay with luggage service and transfer to the ship, at least one Featured excursion in every port, enrichment talks and nightly entertainment, Starlink Wi-Fi, gratuities, port charges and fees. Premium and Signature excursions cost extra.
Which staterooms are best on American Glory?
Most guests choose the 300-square-foot Vista Balcony rooms on Deck 3 or Premium Balcony rooms on Deck 2. The 550-square-foot Grand Suite and 440-square-foot Sky Suite on Deck 4 add living space, a breakfast bar and bigger balconies. Premium Waterview rooms on the Main Deck trade the balcony for a picture window with a built-in bench, and solo travelers have 250-square-foot Single Balcony rooms without a supplement.
Is American Glory good for families with children?
Not really. American Cruise Lines runs no children’s program, there are no kids clubs or connecting family cabins, and the onboard program of history talks, cocktail hours and evening music is built for adult travelers. Most guests are retired couples and solo travelers. If you are considering bringing a teenager, ask about the line’s age policy before booking.
