About Avalon Tranquility II
Avalon Tranquility II is the smaller 361-foot version of the Avalon Suite Ship, delivered in March 2015 and refreshed in 2025. With only 64 staterooms and 128 guests it is among the most intimate ships on the big European rivers, and its shorter hull lets it fit the locks of the Main, the Moselle and the Dutch and Belgian waterways as well as the Rhine and Danube. The 2025 update renewed the public rooms, Sky Deck, fitness room and Wi-Fi.
Fifty-two of the staterooms are suites: 200-square-foot Panorama Suites on the Sapphire and Royal Decks with the Open-Air Balcony window that slides open seven feet wide, and Royal Suites of 300 square feet, with 172-square-foot Deluxe Staterooms on the Indigo Deck. Meals are in the glass-walled Panorama Dining Room, the Panorama Bistro or at the Sky Grill, with wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner and a 24-hour Club Lounge coffee station.
In 2026 and 2027 the ship works a varied program: Romantic Rhine between Amsterdam and Basel, Treasures of Belgium and Holland from Brussels to Amsterdam, Christmastime on the Danube between Nuremberg and Vienna, and Main and Moselle cruises that the bigger ships cannot sail. It suits travelers who want the smallest Avalon ship in Europe without giving up the Panorama Suite.
