Carnival Festivale is the fourth Excel-class ship, under construction at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, with her keel laid in August 2025. Carnival lists her at 182,015 gross tons with 5,356 guests at double occupancy and 1,768 crew, powered by liquefied natural gas. She leaves Southampton on May 2, 2027 on a 15-day transatlantic crossing via Spain, Madeira and the Canary Islands, arrives at Port Canaveral on May 16 and begins Florida sailings on May 19, 2027.
She is the first Excel ship built around families rather than a roller coaster. Sunsation Point spans three decks with Carnival WaterWorks Ultra, which Carnival calls its biggest and most family-friendly waterpark, with six slides including the Turning Tides and SunSoaker raft rides and Racing Currents duelling slides, plus a baby splash pad, Fairway 66 mini golf, the Treehouse adventure trail, the Vault Retrocade and extended nighttime waterpark hours. Two new zones, the music-themed Studio 724 and the outdoor-festival-style The Festival, join Grand Central, Summer Landing and Lido.
Dining brings the new venues from Carnival’s The Next Course program: Emeril’s Coastal Seafood, Fetaccine, Uku Lei Lei and the ship’s exclusive French restaurant Le Bistro Musicale with live music. From Port Canaveral she sails 6- and 8-day Eastern and Southern Caribbean cruises to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao, every one calling at Celebration Key, with RelaxAway Half Moon Cay on many sailings.
