About Costa Favolosa

Costa Favolosa, the fairy-tale ship, was delivered by Fincantieri in 2011 as the fourth of Costa’s Concordia-class ships. At 114,500 gross tons with 1,506 staterooms and about 3,000 guests at double occupancy, she is a mid-sized Costa ship with 524 balcony cabins, four pools including one under a retractable glass roof, five whirlpools and the two-deck, 6,000-square-meter Solemio Spa with a thalassotherapy pool, sauna and Turkish bath.

Costa counts six restaurants and snack bars and 12 bars and lounges, and the newer venues are the draw: the 12-course Archipelago menu by Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León, Sushino at Costa, a Teppanyaki restaurant, the Pummid’Oro pizzeria, Gelateria Amarillo and the Sunset Lounge Bar. Evenings run through the three-tier theater, the casino, a 4D cinema and a Formula 1 driving simulator at the Scuderia Costa bar.

Costa Favolosa splits her year between Northern Europe and the Caribbean. Through October 2026 she sails from Hamburg to Norway and the North Sea, then crosses the Atlantic in November. From late November 2026 to late February 2027 she sails seven-night Caribbean cruises that can be joined in Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre or Santo Domingo, calling at St. Kitts, Antigua and Tortola. Spring 2027 brings short Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, Marseille and Savona before a summer 2027 return to Hamburg.

Costa Favolosa questions we answer every day

How big is Costa Favolosa?
Costa Favolosa is about 114,500 gross tons and 952 feet long, with 1,506 staterooms, 524 of them with balconies, and a crew of about 1,100. Capacity is about 3,000 guests at double occupancy and up to 3,780. Delivered by Fincantieri in 2011, she is a Concordia-class sister of Costa Fascinosa and a mid-sized ship by today’s standards.
Where does Costa Favolosa sail in 2026 and 2027?
Through October 2026 she sails from Hamburg to Norway and the North Sea. After a November crossing she spends late November 2026 to late February 2027 on seven-night Caribbean cruises joined in Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre or Santo Domingo, calling at St. Kitts, Antigua and Tortola. Spring 2027 brings short Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, Marseille and Savona, then she returns to Hamburg for summer 2027.
What is different about a Costa Caribbean cruise?
Costa Favolosa sails the Eastern Caribbean from the French islands and the Dominican Republic rather than from Florida, so the route visits Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Kitts, Antigua and Tortola with little sea time. Most guests are European, Costa sells fly-cruise packages and the ship can be joined at any of the three home ports, which also makes it a good add-on to a French Caribbean stay.
Which cabins are best on Costa Favolosa?
A Balcony cabin is the pick for the island-a-day Caribbean route and for the Norwegian coast, and only about 40 percent of cabins have one, so book early. Spa cabins near the Solemio Spa bundle thermal access, Suites add a butler, a welcome bottle and a reserved restaurant table, and Interior cabins that sleep three or four keep family fares low.
What is included in the fare on Costa Favolosa?
The fare covers the main restaurants, buffet, theater shows, pools, the Squok Club and the Technogym gym. Costa adds a nightly service charge, and specialty dining such as Archipelago, Sushino and Teppanyaki, drinks, Wi-Fi, the 4D cinema and spa treatments are extra unless packaged. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Costa allows it, not available when you book direct.
Is Costa Favolosa good for families?
Yes for families who like a European atmosphere. Children 3 to 11 have the Squok Club, toddlers the Squok Baby Area and teens their own club, with a kids’ pool and water slide, four pools, the 4D cinema and the Formula 1 simulator for sea days. Many cabins sleep four, and the short hops between Caribbean islands mean a beach almost every day.
