Holland America Line · Pinnacle Class
Koningsdam: ship guide
The first Pinnacle Class ship: West Coast favorite for Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska.
Best for: West Coast cruisers who want a modern premium ship for Mexico, Hawaii and Alaska without flying across the country. Sails from San Diego, Vancouver in 2026 and 2027.

About Koningsdam
Koningsdam introduced Holland America Line’s Pinnacle Class in April 2016 and was christened by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands that May. At 99,500 gross tons with 2,650 guests at double occupancy, it brought the line a bigger World Stage theater, the Music Walk, a Lido Pool under a retractable roof and the first Family Ocean View and Single Ocean View staterooms. It remains the template for Nieuw Statendam and the flagship Rotterdam.
A two-week dry dock in March 2026 added five larger ocean-view staterooms that sleep four, put sofa beds into 22 Vista Suites, reworked the seating between Billboard Onboard and the Rolling Stone Lounge, expanded the casino and refreshed Pinnacle Grill, Sel de Mer and Club Orange. Dining choices run from the Dining Room, Lido Market and Grand Dutch Café to Tamarind, Canaletto, Sel de Mer, Morimoto By Sea and a sushi counter.
Koningsdam is Holland America’s West Coast ship. From fall 2026 through spring 2027 it sails Mexican Riviera, Sea of Cortez and Baja cruises of 5 to 12 days from San Diego along with 17 and 18 day Circle Hawaii voyages, then spends summer 2027 on 7 day Alaska Inside Passage cruises round trip from Vancouver with Glacier Bay. Short Pacific Coast repositioning sailings link San Diego and Vancouver each spring and fall. It suits West Coast cruisers who want a modern premium ship without a cross-country flight.
