About Mekong Jewel

Mekong Jewel debuted in January 2020 as the replacement for Mekong Navigator and is the ship Uniworld calls the most luxurious on the Mekong. She is an all-suite Super Ship of 262 feet, 42 feet wide, carrying 68 guests in 34 suites with a staff of 51, built with sustainable, eco-friendly materials. The smallest suite is 339 square feet, the two Grand Suites are 551 and the two Royal Suites 924, bigger than most European river cabins twice over.

She suits travelers who want Southeast Asia with real comfort. Suites on the Sun Deck and Orchid Deck have private enclosed balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows, while Lotus Deck suites have French balconies; the Royal and Grand Suites have fixed four-poster beds. On board are a swimming pool, a spa with sauna and steam room, a gym, a hair salon and nail bar, two lounges, a library and two dining venues: a main restaurant and an al fresco eatery on the upper deck.

Mekong Jewel sails the Mekong between Vietnam and Cambodia as the heart of the 15-day Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, with the cruise from the Mekong Delta to Phnom Penh and on toward Siem Reap for Angkor Wat, then Hanoi and Ha Long Bay. She sails the route in 2026 and 2027; Uniworld has announced a new ship, Mekong Mystique, for 2028. Mekong Jewel questions we answer every day

How big is Mekong Jewel?
Mekong Jewel is 262 feet long and 42 feet wide, carrying 68 guests in 34 suites with a staff of 51. She debuted in January 2020 as an all-suite Super Ship built from sustainable materials, with a pool, spa, sauna and steam room, gym, hair salon, nail bar, two lounges, a library, a main restaurant and an al fresco eatery on the upper deck.
Where does Mekong Jewel sail in 2026 and 2027?
She cruises the Mekong between Vietnam and Cambodia as the river portion of the 15-day Timeless Wonders of Vietnam, Cambodia & the Mekong journey, which runs from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi or in reverse. The program includes the Mekong Delta, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, Hanoi and an overnight on Ha Long Bay. Uniworld has announced a new ship, Mekong Mystique, for 2028.
Which suites are best on Mekong Jewel?
Every suite is at least 339 square feet. Orchid Deck and Sun Deck suites have private enclosed balconies with floor-to-ceiling windows, while Lotus Deck suites have French balconies, so the upper decks are the ones to book. The two 551-square-foot Grand Suites and two 924-square-foot Royal Suites add living space, but both have fixed four-poster beds that cannot be split into twins.
What is included on Mekong Jewel?
All meals, drinks, guided excursions, hotel stays in Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap and Hanoi, the Ha Long Bay overnight, internal flights within the program and gratuities for ship crew, local experts and drivers during the cruise and land stays. Uniworld notes some inclusions in Southeast Asia differ from its European ships. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Uniworld allows it, not available booking direct.
Does Mekong Jewel have a pool?
Yes. There is a swimming pool on deck, which matters in the Mekong heat, plus a spa with sauna and steam room, a gym, and a hair salon and nail bar. Uniworld built her to replace the older Mekong Navigator with a higher standard of comfort, and the all-suite layout gives every guest at least 339 square feet.
Is Mekong Jewel suitable for families?
Uniworld admits guests aged 5 and over in Asia but offers few activities for children, and Mekong Jewel is not part of the Generations family program. With 15 days of flights, temples and long touring days, the program is best suited to adult travelers and multi-generational groups with older teens who can handle the pace.
