About Norwegian Gem

Norwegian Gem is the youngest of Norwegian’s four Jewel Class ships, built in 2007 at 93,530 gross tons for 2,388 guests at double occupancy with a crew of 1,070. It is the mid-size sweet spot in the fleet: big enough for two main dining rooms, a full Haven suite complex with its own courtyard, a Stardust Theatre and more than a dozen bars, yet small enough that you learn your way around on day one.

Gem came out of a spring 2026 dry dock with the adults-only Vibe Beach Club on Deck 14, with seven private cabanas, premium loungers and an extra hot tub, on top of earlier refits that refreshed every stateroom and the public rooms. Specialty dining runs the Norwegian range, from Cagney’s Steakhouse and Le Bistro to Moderno Churrascaria, Teppanyaki and Orchid Garden, while O’Sheehan’s serves pub food around the clock.

In 2026 Gem sails port-intensive Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises from Barcelona, Rome (Civitavecchia) and Venice (Ravenna). From November 2026 through March 2027 it moves to Tampa for four to eleven-day Caribbean and Bahamas cruises with extra calls at Great Stirrup Cay, then returns to the Adriatic and Greek Isles from Ravenna and Athens (Piraeus) for summer 2027. It suits couples and families who prefer a smaller, friendlier ship.
