About Norwegian Star
Norwegian Star is a 91,740-ton Dawn Class ship built in 2001 with 1,174 staterooms for 2,298 guests at double occupancy and a crew of 1,031. Guest decks run from Deck 4 to Deck 14. It is a classic mid-size Norwegian ship with the Versailles and Aqua main dining rooms, the Stardust Theatre, the Oasis Pool with six hot tubs, a Thermal Suite therapy pool in the Mandara Spa and three-bedroom Garden Villas at the top of the ship.
A Norwegian Edge dry dock in Barcelona upgraded all 1,174 staterooms with USB ports, new carpet, headboards and furniture and more than 1,500 works of art, remodeled the Garden Villas, and added three venues: the adults-only Spice H2O enclave with its own pool and hot tubs, the Sky High Bar and Bliss Ultra Lounge. Norwegian lists a further refurbishment in 2021. Specialty restaurants include Cagney’s, Le Bistro, La Cucina, Moderno, Teppanyaki, Sushi and Ginza.
Star is Norwegian’s long-itinerary specialist. Summer 2026 brings ten and eleven-day open-jaw cruises between Southampton and Reykjavik with an overnight in Iceland, then it crosses to San Diego for Mexican Riviera cruises to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta from December 2026 to March 2027. Summer 2027 returns to Southampton for British Isles and Northern Europe sailings before a late-2027 run through the Canary Islands and Mediterranean. It suits well-traveled couples who prize ports over waterslides.
