About Seabourn Encore

Seabourn Encore was delivered by Fincantieri in December 2016 as the first of Seabourn’s two Encore Class ships, with sister Seabourn Ovation following in 2018. At about 40,350 gross tons and 690 feet, she carries 600 guests in 300 oceanfront suites, every one with a private veranda. The design by hospitality architect Adam D. Tihany added a deck over the earlier Seabourn ships and gave the line a bigger Seabourn Square, The Retreat sun deck and more dining room space without changing the intimate, club-like feel.

This is a ship for travelers who want the all-inclusive side of luxury cruising handled quietly: open-seating dining in every venue at no extra charge, premium spirits and fine wines poured whenever you like, a personal suite host and an in-suite bar stocked to your preference. Days are built around the destination, with Marina Day watersports from the stern platform in warm water, Ventures by Seabourn kayak and Zodiac outings in Alaska, and Seabourn Conversations talks from invited experts at sea.

In 2026 Seabourn Encore made her Alaska debut, sailing 7- to 15-day voyages between Vancouver and Juneau from May to September with Glacier Bay on many departures. From December 2026 to April 2027 she turns to Japan and Southeast Asia, with holiday, plum blossom and cherry blossom sailings from Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo, before returning to Alaska from May to September 2027 and Japan round trips from Tokyo in the fall of 2027.

  • Solis Mediterranean fine dining, Sushi and Earth & Ocean at The Patio, all included in the fare
  • The Retreat, a flower-shaped sun deck with 15 private cabanas and a central whirlpool
  • Seabourn Square living room with coffee bar, library and guest services in one space
  • Marina Day watersports from the fold-out stern marina on warm-water itineraries
  • Ventures by Seabourn kayak and Zodiac excursions with an onboard expedition team in Alaska
  • Seabourn Conversations with visiting authors, scientists and explorers
  • Complimentary Helly Hansen parka for every guest on Alaska sailings

Seabourn Encore questions we answer every day

How big is Seabourn Encore?
Seabourn Encore is about 40,350 gross tons and 690 feet long, with 12 decks and 300 suites for 600 guests at double occupancy. She was delivered by Fincantieri in Italy in December 2016 and christened in Singapore in January 2017. Compared with the earlier Seabourn ships she has one additional deck, a larger Seabourn Square and more dining room capacity, while keeping the small-ship feel.
Where does Seabourn Encore sail in 2026 and 2027?
She spent May to September 2026 on her first Alaska season, sailing 7- to 15-day voyages between Vancouver and Juneau with Glacier Bay on many departures. From December 2026 to April 2027 she offers 11 Japan and Southeast Asia sailings of 8 to 14 days from Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo, including plum blossom and cherry blossom voyages. In 2027 she returns to Alaska from May to September, then sails Japan round trips from Tokyo in October and November.
What is included in the fare on Seabourn Encore?
All dining venues, including Solis, Sushi and in-suite dining, are included with no surcharge. Premium spirits and fine wines are complimentary at all times, as are gratuities, a stocked in-suite bar, a personal suite host, Wi-Fi at the level tied to your suite category, Seabourn Conversations and Marina Day watersports. Spa treatments, Ventures by Seabourn excursions and shore excursions are extra. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Seabourn allows it, not available booking direct.
Which suite should I choose on Seabourn Encore?
A Veranda Suite gives most guests everything they need, with a full living area, walk-in closet and private veranda; higher Veranda grades sit on upper decks. Penthouse Suites add a separate bedroom, and Penthouse Spa Suites add spa access next to the Serene Area. Owner’s, Signature and Wintergarden Suites bring wraparound verandas, dining for six, Swarovski binoculars and an included airport transfer.
Is Seabourn Encore a good ship for Alaska?
Yes. Seabourn says it offers more Glacier Bay National Park sailings than any other luxury line, and every Encore Alaska voyage includes a glacier experience. An onboard expedition team of naturalists leads optional Ventures by Seabourn kayak, Zodiac and hiking outings, the itineraries work in smaller ports such as Alert Bay, the Inian Islands and Sitka alongside Juneau and Ketchikan, and every guest receives a Helly Hansen parka to keep.
What is the difference between Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation?
They are sister ships of the same size and layout, each with 300 all-veranda suites, Solis, Sushi, The Retreat and the same 13 suite categories. The main differences are deployment and small design details: Ovation has part-glass railings on the forward Deck 7 suites where Encore’s are metal. In 2026 and 2027 Encore covers Alaska and Asia while Ovation sails the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.

Facts checked against Seabourn: Seabourn Encore, Seabourn: Gourmet dining, Seabourn press release: Seabourn Encore to make maiden Alaska debut in 2026, Seabourn press release: 2026-2027 fall, winter and spring season on October 13, 2026.
