About Silver Cloud Expedition

Silver Cloud was Silversea’s first ship in 1994 and became its first crossover ship in 2017, when a rebuild gave it a 1C ice-class hull, a fleet of 20 Zodiacs and 10 kayaks and an Explorer Lounge for lectures. At 17,400 gross tons it carries 254 guests, reduced to 240 in polar waters, with a crew of 212, and Silversea pairs that with a high ratio of expedition experts to guests. All 127 suites have butlers and about 80 percent have a veranda.

The ship keeps the classic Silversea layout: The Restaurant, La Terrazza, The Grill and La Dame for dining, the Panorama Lounge, Dolce Vita piano bar and Connoisseur’s Corner for evenings, a glass-enclosed Observation Lounge and library forward on deck 9, the Zagara Beauty Spa, a fitness center and a pool deck with whirlpools. Suites run from 240 sq ft Vista Suites to the 1,019 sq ft Grand Suite, and the Explorer Lounge hosts daily briefings and recaps.

Silver Cloud’s 2026-2027 program is wide-ranging. It sailed the 77 day Grand South Pacific Expedition from Fremantle through the Kimberley, Fiji, French Polynesia and Easter Island to Valparaiso in fall 2026, then sails Antarctica from Puerto Williams from November 2026 to February 2027, including Falklands and South Georgia round trips and King George Island fly-cruise legs. In 2027 it crosses the Pacific to Japan and Darwin for a Kimberley season from Darwin and Broome, then returns to Antarctica. It suits travelers who want one ship for the world’s wild coastlines.
