Silver Wind: ship guide
Ice-class expedition ship with 24 Zodiacs for Antarctica, Greenland and the Arctic.
Best for: Travelers who want full Silversea butler service and suites on an ice-class ship for the Antarctic Peninsula, Falklands and South Georgia, or Iceland and Greenland in summer 2027. Sails from Puerto Williams, King George Island, Reykjavik, Nuuk, Dublin, Leith (Edinburgh), Malaga in 2026 and 2027.

About Silver Wind
Silver Wind began life in 1995 as the second Silversea ship and was converted into an expedition vessel in a November 2021 refit that gave it a strengthened 1C ice-class hull, a fleet of 24 Zodiacs and a Zodiac-to-guest ratio of 1:11. At 17,400 gross tons it carries 274 guests with a crew of 239, so the ship keeps nearly one crew member per guest while an expedition team of naturalists, historians and photographers leads landings and lectures.
The hotel side is pure Silversea: all-suite accommodation with butlers, four restaurants in The Restaurant, La Terrazza, The Grill and La Dame, the Panorama Lounge, Dolce Vita bar and Connoisseur’s Corner, a Zagara Beauty Spa and fitness center, an Observation Library and a pool deck with whirlpools. The Show Lounge doubles as the lecture theater, there is an expedition office and photo studio, and the suites run from 240 sq ft Vista Suites to a 1,019 sq ft Grand Suite.
Through 2026 and 2027 Silver Wind alternates the poles. It sails Antarctica from Puerto Williams and King George Island between October 2026 and February 2027, mostly nine night Antarctic Peninsula crossings plus longer Falklands and South Georgia round trips, then repositions through Spain and the British Isles to Iceland and Greenland for Reykjavik and Nuuk voyages in summer 2027 before returning to Puerto Williams for the next Antarctic season. It suits guests who want an ice-class ship with full Silversea service.
