About Enchantment of the Seas

Enchantment of the Seas is a Vision Class ship that entered service in July 1997 and was lengthened in June 2005, when a 73-foot midsection built in Finland was inserted at a Rotterdam shipyard. The stretch made her the largest of the class at 82,910 gross tons and 989 feet, with 2,252 guests at double occupancy, 2,730 maximum and 852 crew. It also added a bigger pool deck with suspension bridges, bungee trampolines, a splash deck, Boleros lounge and more staterooms.

A December 2012 refurbishment updated staterooms and public rooms, and a 2015 drydock brought Park Café, Chef’s Table, the retro R Bar, a poolside movie screen and a nursery. The ship keeps the Vision Class signature glass Centrum atrium and Viking Crown Lounge, and offers a theater, casino, three pools and six whirlpools. She suits value-minded families and couples who want a classic weeklong cruise on a ship that calls at smaller Central American ports.

Enchantment sails year-round from Tampa in 2026 to 2027 on seven-night Western Caribbean cruises to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatán and Belize City, with some itineraries swapping in Perfect Day at CocoCay and Royal Beach Club Cozumel opening in late 2026. From April 2027 she offers five- and seven-night Western Caribbean cruises, and from November 2027 switches to four- and five-night sailings to Mexico.

  • Bungee trampolines and a kids’ splash deck added in the 2005 stretch
  • Adults-only Solarium pool with retractable glass roof
  • Three pools and six whirlpools on an expanded pool deck
  • Boleros Latin lounge with a live six-piece band
  • Orpheum Theater with original shows Stage to Screen and Can’t Stop the Rock

Staterooms and suites

Balcony

Balcony staterooms are limited, with 154 on board, so they book early; most are around 190 square feet with a roughly 40 square foot veranda.

Junior Suite

Junior Suites add a sitting area, bathtub, walk-in closet and larger balcony, with Concierge Club access and priority boarding.

Suites

Grand Suites, Owner’s Suites and the Royal Suite at about 1,185 square feet with a 140 square foot terrace top the 94 suites on board, all with concierge service, reserved show seating and the Concierge Club lounge.

Who is Enchantment of the Seas best for?
She is a good match for families, couples and groups who want a traditional weeklong cruise from Tampa with four ports and plenty of sea-day space. Guests who want waterslides and big-ship neighborhoods should consider a newer ship.
What are the best staterooms on Enchantment of the Seas?
Balcony staterooms are scarce, with only 154 on board, so book early if you want one. Ocean View rooms are plentiful and good value, and the Ultra Spacious Ocean View category gives families room to spread out. Junior Suites and Grand Suites add Concierge Club access and priority boarding.
What is included in the cruise fare?
The fare covers your stateroom, My Fair Lady dining room, Windjammer buffet, Park Café, production shows, Centrum entertainment, pools, rock wall, bungee trampolines, fitness center and Adventure Ocean. Specialty dining, drinks packages, spa and shore excursions are extra. On sailings where Royal Caribbean allows it, SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit that is not available when booking direct.
Where does Enchantment of the Seas sail in 2026 and 2027?
She sails year-round from Tampa. Through early 2027 the core itinerary is a seven-night Western Caribbean loop to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Roatán and Belize City, with some sailings visiting Perfect Day at CocoCay and Royal Beach Club Cozumel.
