Princess’s Port Canaveral ship for the Caribbean, then Copenhagen in summer 2027.
Best for: Florida cruisers who want a drive-to Princess ship with Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries longer than the standard 7 nights, and families using the Camp Discovery centers. Sails from Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, Copenhagen in 2026 and 2027.
Caribbean Princess is a Grand Class ship that entered service in April 2004 and was built for exactly the itineraries her name suggests. At 112,894 gross tons she carries 3,140 guests at double occupancy in 1,556 staterooms, with 19 decks, a three-deck Piazza, the adults-only Sanctuary and the Movies Under the Stars poolside screen that this ship introduced to the fleet.
A major 2017 refit gave the ship the World Fresh Marketplace buffet, the Camp Discovery youth and teen center, 87 interconnecting staterooms, new Princess Luxury Beds and seven new or redesigned dining venues, and a late 2024 dry dock in Palermo refreshed carpets, upholstery and public areas. Included dining spans the Coral, Island and Palm dining rooms, the 24-hour International Café, Slice and The Salty Dog Grill, with Crown Grill, Sabatini’s, the Chef’s Table and Steamers Seafood and Planks BBQ pop-ups as specialty options.
Through late April 2027 Caribbean Princess sails year-round from Port Canaveral on 6 and 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises, 10-day and longer Southern Caribbean voyages, 12-day Panama Canal cruises and a 20-day Caribbean Explorers itinerary. In May 2027 she repositions to Copenhagen for nine 12-night Scandinavia and Baltic cruises, crosses to Boston via the British Isles in late August, and returns to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027 for 9 to 12-night Caribbean cruises. She suits Florida drive-to cruisers, families in school holidays and anyone who wants longer, port-rich Caribbean itineraries.

Caribbean Princess questions we answer every day
How big is Caribbean Princess?
Caribbean Princess is 112,894 gross tons and 952 feet long with 19 decks. She carries 3,140 guests at double occupancy in 1,556 staterooms, with a crew of about 1,200. She is a Grand Class ship with an extra deck of staterooms compared with Grand Princess, which is why she carries more guests than her older sister.
Where does Caribbean Princess sail in 2026 and 2027?
Through late April 2027 she sails round trip from Port Canaveral: 6 and 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises to ports such as San Juan, Amber Cove and Grand Turk, 10-day and longer Southern Caribbean voyages, 12-day Panama Canal cruises and a 20-day Caribbean Explorers itinerary. From May to August 2027 she sails 12-night Baltic cruises from Copenhagen, then crosses to Boston and returns to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027.
When was Caribbean Princess last refurbished?
The ship had a routine dry dock at Fincantieri’s Palermo yard in late 2024 that refreshed carpets, upholstery and public areas along with technical work. Her last major refit was in 2017, when Princess added the World Fresh Marketplace, Camp Discovery, 87 interconnecting staterooms, new Princess Luxury Beds and seven new or redesigned dining venues.
Which staterooms are best on Caribbean Princess?
A Balcony stateroom is the right call for the Caribbean and the ship has 669 of them plus 178 Mini-Suites. Families should look at the interconnecting cabins added in 2017 or a Two Bedroom Family Suite. For the Baltic season in 2027 a Mini-Suite or Suite with Reserve Collection dining makes the long port days easier with a dedicated dining section and priority disembarkation.
What is included in the fare on Caribbean Princess?
The three main dining rooms, World Fresh Marketplace, International Café, Slice, The Salty Dog Grill, Coffee & Cones ice cream, afternoon tea, theater shows, Movies Under the Stars, pools and Camp Discovery are included. Specialty restaurants, drinks, Wi-Fi and crew appreciation are extra unless you add a Princess Plus or Premier package. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Princess allows it, which you will not get booking direct.
Is Caribbean Princess good for families?
Yes. Camp Discovery gives kids and teens their own spaces, Movies Under the Stars works for all ages, and the 87 interconnecting staterooms and Two Bedroom Family Suites make it easy to keep a group together. Port Canaveral is an easy drive for Florida families and a short hop from Orlando for anyone combining the cruise with the theme parks.
