Carnival Firenze questions we answer every day
How big is Carnival Firenze?
Carnival Firenze measures 135,156 gross tons and is 1,061 feet long. Carnival lists 4,126 guests at double occupancy and 1,425 crew. She was built by Fincantieri in Italy, sailed first as Costa Firenze in 2021 and joined Carnival in 2024 after a refit in Spain. She is the sister of Carnival Venezia and the two make up Carnival’s Venice Class.
What is the Florence theme?
Carnival kept the Costa design that pays tribute to Florence and Tuscany. The atrium is Piazza Duomo, the main dining rooms are Michelangelo and Medici, the Tuscan Lounge honors the region, and Moda Bar & Lounge, Il Mercato and Il Viaggio continue the Italian thread. Carnival calls the result Fun Italian Style and adds its own shows, comedy and casual dining.
What are Terrazza staterooms?
Terrazza rooms are the Venice-class version of Carnival’s Havana program. Terrazza Interior, Premium Balcony, Premium Vista Balcony, Aft-View Extended Balcony and Terrazza Cabana rooms include access to Terrazza Moda, a private deck with whirlpools, a bar, entertainment and all-day lounging. Every guest in a Terrazza room must be 12 or older.
What is included in the fare?
The fare covers the Michelangelo and Medici dining rooms, Lido Marketplace, Il Mercato, Pizzeria del Capitano, La Strada Grill, Guy’s Burger Joint, Tomodoro, Swirls, the Teatro Rosso shows, comedy, WaterWorks, SportSquare, Serenity and the kids clubs. Il Viaggio, Fahrenheit 555, Bonsai, Seafood Shack, Frizzante, drinks, the spa and Wi-Fi are extra.
Where does Carnival Firenze sail in 2026 and 2027?
From Long Beach she sails 3-day Ensenada weekends and 4-day Catalina Island and Ensenada cruises into early 2027, plus adults-only 7- to 14-night Mexican Riviera cruises between October 12 and November 16, 2026. In early 2027 she repositions via South America on Carnival Journeys cruises, sails a short Caribbean season from Miami in spring 2027 and arrives in New York on May 27, 2027 for the summer.
How does Carnival Firenze compare with Carnival Venezia?
They are near-identical sisters in size, layout and venue mix, with the same Terrazza program, Teatro Rosso, Il Viaggio, WaterWorks and SportSquare. The difference is the theme: Venezia is Venice with Piazza San Marco and the Gondola Lounge, Firenze is Florence with Piazza Duomo and the Tuscan Lounge. In 2027 they swap coasts, with Firenze taking over Venezia’s New York season.
