About Coral Princess

Coral Princess is the lead ship of the two-ship Coral Class, built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France and in service since January 2003 with the President of Panama as godmother. She was designed to fit the original Panama Canal locks, so at 91,627 gross tons she carries just 2,000 guests at double occupancy in 1,000 staterooms, more than 700 of them with balconies. The result is one of the most spacious, easygoing ships in the fleet, with a Universe Lounge, the Conservatory and a Princess Piazza.

Included dining spans the Bordeaux and Provence dining rooms, the World Fresh Marketplace buffet, the International Café, La Patisserie, Princess Pizzeria, The Bar & Grill and Swirls, with Crown Grill, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, the Chef’s Table and the Crab Shack pop-up as specialty options. A routine dry dock in Singapore in fall 2024 refreshed staterooms and public areas, and the ship carries Movies Under the Stars, the adults-only Sanctuary and the Lotus Spa.

For winter 2026 to 2027 Coral Princess sails 7 to 14-night Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, then departs on January 6, 2027 on the 129-day Grand Circle Pacific voyage to 61 destinations in 20 countries with Panama Canal transits, four Hawaiian islands and Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia segments. Summer 2027 is Alaska, with 6 to 9-day Inside Passage cruises from Vancouver and Voyage of the Glaciers sailings between Vancouver and Whittier, before a return to the Caribbean for 2027 to 2028. She suits mature travelers and long-voyage enthusiasts.

Staterooms and suites

Interior

Approximately 158 to 162 sq ft with two twin beds or a queen, a refrigerator, TV and shower bathroom, with third and fourth berths in select cabins. The most affordable option and a good choice on a port-heavy Panama Canal or Caribbean route.

Oceanview

Approximately 146 to 206 sq ft with a picture window or porthole; Princess notes some views are partially or fully obstructed, so check the deck plan before choosing.

Balcony

Approximately 214 to 222 sq ft including the balcony, with two chairs and a table outside. More than 700 cabins on Coral Princess have a balcony, which makes this category easy to secure and the right choice for a Canal transit or Glacier Bay.

Mini-Suite and Reserve Collection Mini-Suite

Approximately 323 sq ft including the balcony as Princess lists it, with a separate sitting area, sofa bed, two TVs and a tub with massage showerhead. Reserve Collection Mini-Suites add nightly Reserve Collection dining in a dedicated section of the main dining room, priority disembarkation and a one-time wine setup.

Suites

Full Suites run approximately 460 to 932 sq ft including the balcony, with a separate sitting area, sofa bed, tub and shower, complimentary mini-bar setup and laundry, Reserve Collection dining and priority tender disembarkation; Coral Princess has 16 of them, so they book early for the long voyages. The ship does not carry the Sanctuary Collection, which is on Sun Princess and Star Princess only.

Coral Princess questions we answer every day

How big is Coral Princess?
Coral Princess is 91,627 gross tons and 965 feet long with 16 decks. She carries 2,000 guests at double occupancy in 1,000 staterooms, with a crew of about 895. She is long and narrow because she was built to fit the original Panama Canal locks, so she feels far roomier than her guest count suggests and is one of the smallest ships in the Princess fleet.
Where does Coral Princess sail in 2026 and 2027?
For winter 2026 to 2027 she sails 7 to 14-night Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, including holiday sailings. On January 6, 2027 she departs Fort Lauderdale on the 129-day Grand Circle Pacific voyage with Panama Canal transits, Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, bookable in segments. Summer 2027 is Alaska from Vancouver and Whittier, and she returns to the Caribbean for 2027 to 2028.
When was Coral Princess last refurbished?
Coral Princess had a three-week routine dry dock in Singapore in September and October 2024 covering technical work, class inspections and updates to public areas and staterooms, before repositioning back to North America. Earlier dry docks added The Sanctuary and the Movies Under the Stars screen, and she was converted to MedallionClass for keyless entry and OceanNow delivery.
Which staterooms are best on Coral Princess?
A Balcony stateroom is the natural choice and the ship has more than 700 of them, with clear views of the Canal locks and Glacier Bay from your own deck. Mini-Suites add a sitting area and tub, and the Reserve Collection Mini-Suites include their own dining section. With only 16 full Suites, book early if you want one for a long voyage.
What is included in the fare on Coral Princess?
The Bordeaux and Provence dining rooms, World Fresh Marketplace, International Café, La Patisserie, Princess Pizzeria, The Bar & Grill, Swirls ice cream, afternoon tea, theater and Universe Lounge shows, Movies Under the Stars, pools and the youth centers are included. Specialty restaurants, drinks, Wi-Fi and crew appreciation are extra unless you add a Princess Plus or Premier package. SmartCruiser adds bonus onboard credit on sailings where Princess allows it, which you will not get booking direct.
Is Coral Princess good for a Panama Canal cruise?
She was built for it. Coral Princess was designed to the Panamax dimensions of the original locks and christened by the President of Panama, and Princess has used her on Canal routes since 2003. The 2027 Grand Circle Pacific includes full Canal transits, and the long open decks, Conservatory and Universe Lounge give everyone a vantage point for the locks and the Gaillard Cut.
