About Icon of the Seas

Icon of the Seas launched Royal Caribbean’s Icon Class in January 2024 and reset what a big-ship vacation looks like. Built by Meyer Turku in Finland and the line’s first ship powered by liquefied natural gas, she carries 5,610 guests at double occupancy across 20 decks and 2,805 staterooms, arranged into eight neighborhoods: Thrill Island, Chill Island, Surfside, Central Park, the Royal Promenade, the AquaDome, the adults-only Hideaway and a Suite Neighborhood.

The ship suits multigenerational families who want a lot of choice in one place. Category 6, which Royal Caribbean calls the largest waterpark at sea, has six slides; Royal Bay is the largest pool in the fleet; Crown’s Edge is a skywalk 154 feet above the water; and Surfside is a neighborhood built for families with young children. Couples get Central Park, the Hideaway infinity pool and the Empire Supper Club.

Through 2026 and early 2027 Icon of the Seas sails 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries round trip from Miami, every one calling at Perfect Day at CocoCay. In August 2027 she repositions with a 9-night one-way sailing to Galveston, Texas, where she will offer 6- to 8-night Western Caribbean cruises through at least April 2028.

  • Category 6 waterpark with six slides, including the Frightening Bolt drop slide and Pressure Drop
  • Seven pools, including Royal Bay, the Cove Pool, Cloud 17 and the adults-only Hideaway infinity pool
  • Crown’s Edge skywalk and zip line 154 feet above the ocean

  • Surfside, a neighborhood designed for families with young children

  • Empire Supper Club, an eight-course dinner with a live band in an old New York setting
  • Every sailing visits Perfect Day at CocoCay
